Zelda Ancient Stone Tablets

Hi, so I purchased a working AST cart from a repro guy and wanted to see if anybody is up for the task of creating the box, manual and map for it.  I seen the PAL format, but haven't found anybody who did the NTSC version.  I'm attaching pictures of the game I bought as well as the PAL bundle I seen...

If you're up for the task, shoot me a PM with your price.  Thanks for the help!

  • I'll make you a box tonight, maybe a map too. Don't have time for the manual though.
  • Whats with the switches?
  • Not 100% but the ROM was originally broadcast in weekly episodes over 4 weeks. I'm guessing the switches select between each episode.
  • ^Exactly.
  • Wow. This is really cool. I didn't know there were different versions of BS Zelda.
  • The same guy who made this claims he is making a "Master Quest" version of the same game. Says he is moving some items around, making the boss fights a bit more difficult...gosh it's hard to keep up with all the Zelda hacks these days...
  • I'm amazed at how professional some translations and hacks are. This looks great!

That's cool that he's doing a "Master Quest." I wonder if he's one of the guys from this site. http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/sekibanfiles.shtml

It still makes me sad that Nintendo never did any Satellaview stuff over here. I was 17 in 97, so my parents probably would've loved to see me play these online instead of the original Diablo. Haha!

  • Where can I purchase either of those?

edit: particularly, the NTSC copy with the dip switch. I have already worked on a box for this and NEED a copy!

x2,I'm wanting a NTSC copy as well!
  • I would also be interested in a copy
  • A user on eBay has been making them and auctioning them off somewhat regularly. I think one is up right now even. Same person who has been doing Star Ocean and who has a killer deal on a $25 Alien Soldier genesis repro right now. I don't remember the username, but should be easy to find by searching for the AST game.
  • Here it is:

You guys might want to try and contact her, if ebay decides to enfore the anti repro rules, they might ban here and you won't be able to order a copy of the game.
  • I did not know about this Zelda ! Looks cool.
  • Yeah the prices on those Genesis repros are great!

The dip switches are interesting... I wonder what the inside of the cart looks like? Must be a wire filled mess.
  • As for a custom manual... I'm assuming it should be modeled after the original Legend of Zelda manual, correct?
  • is it the full 4weeks of the game. if so, how much did you get it for. i need one
  • After watching a youtube video, I see that it's a BS remake more or less of Link to the Past... so a custom manual would probably want to follow suit close to that...
  • Got my copy!

I'm not sure about that, but the cart itself is heavier than a standard Snes cart.
  • 8 eproms need to be used to make this. So likely they used 4 adapter mounted flash roms.
  • I would ask you to pop it open so we could see for ourselves what the inside looks like, but I wouldn't begrudge you if you didn't want to for fear of screwing up the switches/wiring on the inside...

    Thanks!I'm stoked about this game!
  • $260 for Star Ocean is ridiculous! I occasionally have a couple for sale, and I charge less than half of that price.

Yep!Thanks to you my friend I got my very beautiful copy for less than half of that!
  • How good are these BS zelda games? Like am I missing out on something amazing?
  • Does anybody make these games or can point me to the person that does. I really would love to own a copy.

  • If I were to design/commission a manual for this, would there be any interest?

    Just curious.
