Please Lock - NES PC - An computer inside an NES case

This will be a bit image heavy, but I think it's better that way.

Up for auction is an NES PC, (a PC in an NES case). This was built by me, and is a handmade item. It features a removable inner motherboard tray in case you want to upgrade. This is a great little machine for playing DVDs, but really it was purpose built to play NES roms. This build does not include Operating System or Roms! Buyer pays shipping. Item located in Idaho, USA. My guess is that shipping will be ~$20 in the US.

Personal Auction Rules:

1. Starting bid of $1, with bid incriments of $1 or more.

2. Reserve price of $200. I reserve the right to lower this amount, but obviously not increase it. If lowered, it cannot be increased again.

3. The end time for this auction will be 11:59PM June 19th. However, like a real auction, if someone bids within the last ten minutes of the auction, the auction time will be pushed back ten minutes from that bid. This will continue until no bids are placed within ten minutes of the last bid. This removes the possibility of someone sniping the item from you.

I know I'm new here but I go by d_stilgar at thebestcasescenario.com, and I have a lot of seller feedback there: http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22017&highlight=d_stilgar

And I'm on ebay by the name of d_stilgar as well.

Here are a few videos:

Now, for the pictures!

Power and Reset buttons work as well as power LED

The RCA jacks work, like on an original NES

Power through the same place, ch 3-4 switch ejects the DVD drive, and RCA audio out.

Keyboard, Mouse, and USB controller. Note: All of these are USB, but the cords have been changed to NES cords, and the controller port is just wired into be USB.

Back of the Mouse, Keyboard, and Controller. Note: USB controller is identified with a decal on back

Power adapter and driver CD. The Power Brick is rated at 70W, but that's enough for this build.

Bottom of NES case. Another decal identifies that the case was built by me, and has my real name on it, which is blurred here.

Alright, feel free to ask any questions or tell me that I'm a noob here and won't ever sell it. It's all good to me.

Thanks for reading!

  • This. Is. Awesome. What OS would be ideal for this? Would a simple windows install work?
  • A simple windows install would be great for this. There are also plenty of linux installs that don't use a lot of system resources. Hyperspin should work on this but I've never tried it. I've been reading around and I think hyperspin would work, but might run slow until you get into the emulators themselves. Still, I know that I had WinXP Media Center and an NES emulator running on it before. It was probably Nesticle.
  • Wow, this is awesome. That is all.
  • Daily Bump. Still no bids.
  • YES!!!!! A bid of 100 factorial! You are amazing! Ok, all kidding aside, thanks for the bid.
  • Daily bump. High bid is Bulldoggamer with $100.
  • One week to go. Bump!
  • Another bump to bring to front page. Still holding out hope there's someone who's lurking on this.

If you are tentative to bid, please me know what could be improved about the computer itself. If you are worried that I am a noob, please look at my feedback at other websites.

    Thanks guys!
  • Bump to front page.
  • Final bump! Less than 24 hours to go.
  • Alright, bidding is closed and reserve of $200 was not met. I'll do a little more work to the machine and re-activate the thread in the for sale section of the site. Thanks to all who looked.
