Famicom Disk System "Nazo no Murasame Jō" Repro Possibility?

Hi there!

I've recently made a detailed list of all the Japan-Only NES games I'd eventually like to have as a repro,

and it just so happens that Nazo no Murasame Jo made it on there.

That brings up 3 questions for me:

1-I couldn't find any info anywhere about the possibility or impossibility of re-arranging a FDS game into a Cartidge game, so has it ever been done before?

2-If that's not an option, is the Japan-Only rerelease of the game on GBA a possible option to use as a basis for a NES repro, or is it just as far-out as using the FDS disk version?

3-Or is there falt-out already a NES-ized ROM of the game that could be used for repros and I was just too much of a failure to find it?

Tell me what you know!

  • Almana no Kiseki was an FDS exclusive game, and there were both pirated Famicom carts of it, and NES repros, so I'm sure this could be done.
  • I think you should read the FAQ on this section.
  • WareWaKorekuta,

All three are No, unless you can program it yourself.

You should be able to use power pak, etc. to run this title.
  • ...Damn...

I seriously can't believe that it's never been anyone's project to convert such an awesome piece of Nintendo history into cart form!

    Well, thanks for the info!
  • FDS games can be converted to cart mappers. It's a matter of time and effort. A quick search doesn't turn up a previous conversion, so doing it yourself or hiring it out to someone else are your options.

If you're not dead set on a standalone repro cart, the powerpak would be a good alternative.
  • It exists as a pirate cartridge, albeit incredibly rare and expensive. Im sure a talented hacker could get it to run on a cart. They did it with Almana No Kiseki recently.... FYI whatever sound is used through the exclusive FDS sound channel (probably very little if any at all, its an older FDS game) will NOT be reproduced on cartridge...
