Yeah OP, tell the seller you'll gift him $5 or something if he reveals the usernames of the backdoorers. I'll put up $5 just to out these people myself. I'm so f'in tired of some of the selfish collectors who lurk on eBay backdooring deals.
I'll bring the pitchforks if you bring the torches.
It's the seller's fault for not researching the market and selling at a price so far below market value, not the person (people, it sounds like...there were more than one) who recognizes this and tries to offer an amount closer to the market price for the item.
It's cool that the seller didn't back out because of his stupidity (I just had someone today who I had a deal with at $57 for some stuff tell me that he didn't research the value of the games and that he would now be charging me $70...it was still a steal, so I took it, but it pissed me off quite a bit...who's fuckin' fault is it that you didn't do your research before you entered into a legally valid contract with me? certainly not mine...)
Anyway, let's take it easy on the lynching plans. These people were just doing what all people do in every market when stuff like this happens. Sheesh...I think some of you may feel a bit more entitled than is healthy.,
I actually had this same situation happen recently with a NM PAL Super Metroid Big Box. Luckily, the seller seems to have done the right thing - thought I won't know until he ships it.
Keep us in mind if and when you decide to sell! I'll pay what it's worth...just need to shuffle some things around.
