coleco vision dead?

A friend of mine found a coleco vision at a flea market and payed $7.50 for it.    The problem is that it doesn't work.   When you turn the console on you get a black screen. It came with 7 games and a controller.  I tested the controller with a genesis and it worked. I worked and repaired nes consoles before so i offered to take a look at it. what i found was crazy look how rusty it is!    Is it dead? anybody got some good links or experience with coleco systems?

    The problem is probably in the RF or your power supply

    You should mod it to AV and/or try another power supply

    Also, take off the board shields, spray them down with WD-40, let them sit for a few minutes and then rub then in a light, circular motion with a very fine grit steel wool.



    It'll seem like the rust was never there in minutes after you start scouring it, and the metal will shine like new.
