Wire Type

So I've noticed in many Snes Repros often times if your not using a 29F032B flash eprom you might have to do a lot of wiring of different connections causing the inside of your PCB to look like an assorted mess.

I was just wondering what type of wire do most people use or recommend for this process. I thought perhapes I could get away with striping an ethernet cable and using the wiring from inside. I work in IT so I have miles of the stuff.

  • Usually you would use stranded wire (made up of many strands of wire), ethernet cable is usually solid wire (just a single wire). Stranded wire is flexible, solid wire is rigid and will break if you flex it. You could use it though, as long as you can shape it once and never have it move again.
