Goodwill Finds for 8/6 - Finally!

There are two Goodwills near my work that I stop by on my break. Once every couple weeks or month, not daily or anything. Or rather, one big, good one and another lousy one. I have never found anything of note at the large one and have questioned my life choices when leaving the other on a few occasions. There are hardly ever any media let alone games at this thrift store. Each time I leave I decide it's not worth it and vow it's the last time.

So, of course I stop by again today...

This time was different. I immediately see 20 games in the glass case. Better to look through 20 sports games and find nothing than to find nothing at all time after time. As I walk in I see a Super Scope boxed to the left on top of the glass case. Score! I never wanted to go out of my way to buy one, but finding one is another matter. I look in at the games first and see the following:

I grabbed the Super Scope and went back to look at the games in more detail. I wound up with these:

Going from complete strike out to some nice scores. I guess it is all worth it and sometimes you just have to stick with it. I found a Xenoblade ($25) at a Pawn Shop a few miles away a while back.

  • Great score!!!!!
  • Good finds! Please tell me that Xenoblade has an Ebay completed listing printout under it? That's ridiculous. It's like they have to justify the $40 price.
  • actually that is 8 pages worth of eBay listings that they printed up! the Super Scope must have been there a while as the price was originally 35 and crossed out. I haven't been there for a month or 3. Originally I was sticking to my vow...

oddly enough none of the other games were priced accordingly just the Wii game
  • Grats man. I would love to find one of those scopes cib. I would probably walk through goodwill like I was on drugs while holding it lololol
  • The Beatles are awesome.

Awesome finds, all of them. However if you want to find more things at the thrift stores you need to go every single day. Its obnoxious, but otherwise you'll find things only once every couple years (versus finding things once every couple months).

  • What a joke, those Ebay printouts.

Agreed.  You find other stuff worth keeping too.  Always worth it.

  • At least your Goodwill is reasonable with pricing stuff using eBay... The stores near me would have the printouts of eBay BINs that never sell and price it +20%.

Nice finds! I would kill to find a Xenoblade under FMV in the wild!
  • Still an awesome price on Xenoblade! Congrats.
  • Yeah the goodwills take way more dedication than I can muster. The fact that I found the scope with the price drop is encouraging. Maybe happenstance but maybe it means the place isn't crawling with collectors and resellers.

second xenoblade in the wild. I want to go for three!
  • All great stuff. I still have my sealed Xenoblade from when it first came out...I really need to open it so the selling temptation is completely gone.
  • *shits in pants a little but rolls w it* Best finders keepes in awhile! What a spectacular mix of games!!
  • Sweet!! I too found my MvsC at a Goodwill.

Dont open it! sell it then buy and open copy. or im sure someone would be willing to trade there open copy plus cash for your sealed copy
  • Wait, your Goodwills set individual prices for games? All of mine are a flat $2.50 media price, no exceptions. That sucks.
