Oh my god. It works!
This is a VERY satisfying find. The dollar bin at a video game store had a copy of Excite Bike and a SNES power adapter (been needing to replace the one on my 3rd SNES for a couple months).
I asked the guy if he could please plug in the power adapter to one of the store's SNESes just to make sure it worked. He said no, because the purpose of a dollar bin is to sell untested stuff. If it was tested and worked, it would be sold at full price, he said.
I said "then isn't the implication that it doesn't work?
He said, well you can have both for $1 (meaning NES Excite Bike and the SNES power adapter). I bought both for a dollar total.
Guess what? Both work perfectly. Upon closer inspection, I think they the reason they were in the dollar bin was because there's electrical tape on the SNES wire, but there's no damage to the cord, so it must have been there for some other reason (they probably just didn't want to sell for liability). And the Excite Bike cart rattles slightly. I just unscrewed that and fixed it.
Problem solved. Awesome!
I think some times even game stores don't understand how savvy retro collectors are. (And I'll be even savvier once I get a special bit to be able to unscrew electronics screws on other games).
Getting an authentic and perfectly working SNES power adapter, in a way, is even better than finding a game that I can resell for a lot of money. This is just SOOOOOOOOOOO satisfying.

I would've walked out after that classy answer.

Isn't there a sticky that says "one active thread per member"
Yeah... and while I appreciate that this might have been a cool find, if everyone posted a seperate thread every time they found a power adapter and an excite bike or duck hunt or something the board would be impossibly cluttered. The small finds topic is there for a reason.
