Did you see the pics of the new series coming out?

I'm not sure if I want to bother with the minifigs, I prefer building full sets.

Yeah series 12 is coming out in october. They have a "gamer" who comes with a headset and a controller tile. I will be getting them when they come out for sure.

I wish I had the space, or the money for full sets. Thats why I just get the minfigs- lego fix but cheaper (kinda) and less space.
  • Found this yesterday paid a bit for it since it's new
    photo C1C554CF-0953-44E1-8B39-FE127F9B8211_zps6ofk5oh4.jpg

Never seen this before, and on the side it mentions "new orange blocks"

    Also scored these

  • I need that Doc oc, penguin and underwater batman. Let me know if you want to sell.
  • hehe sorry man,

those are actually the only type of figs I collect - any of the superhero lego sets

but if i come across these sets again i'll let ya know

also, if you really like legos have you tried shopgoodwill?

they have a bunch there and I'm local to one of sellers so if its one of those bulk lego sets, I bid and pick up the sets (save on those crazy shipping cost)

    its all good man.

I never buy bulk legos online because I only collect the minifigs.  If I pick any bulk stuff up its in the wild usually, and only if its CHEAP.
  • they do sell minifig lots too

i forgot to bid last min, and lost out on a nice set of superhero/lotr figs >.

    went like 50bucks
  • Welll... it's been awhile since I've posted in this thread, and it's even my thread lol..
Anyways. I haven't really picked much up lately along the line of legos, but today this guy snuck into this lot of games I bought.. See if you can spot it

  • I don't see it. I'm going to need a picture with a giant red circle and a large arrow pointing to "it."

Sick. I wish they still sold that set.

I bought a ton of star wars legos today. I mean a ton. Along with a ton of new sets coming in from lego.com.

But today got a ton of cool old sets.

Republic cruiser( the one from the first five minutes of phantom menace. Red one)

    Star destroyer

    Jabbas palace

    First gen millenium falcon

    Imperial landing craft

    Slave I

    Tie fighter and ywing set

Thats just the surface but the notables that stood out. Probably 30+ more

The best thing I ever built as a kid was the three starters for Pokemon first gen. xD But of course I destroyed them like a few hours later.

That's the whole point! These people buying for their "portfolio" are chumps. They will never know the joy of building something for 5 hours then spending 5 minutes destroying it only to build something else that will eventually be obliterated.

Im pretty sure they by legos for themselves too and for their kids to play with. Why is the stigma everyone has that if you buy and flip you dont enjoy and have what you sell as well. Anyways, Yet they get the last laugh as they annually gross 10-15 percent a year selling old sets in there inventory. Thats better than the stock market. They are pretty smart and savy. In 2007 if you would have bought 5 of the 499.99 millenium falcon collector editions, 5 years later they were 4-5 times the value and now closer to 6 times. So 2500 investment 5 years later would have been 10k and would now be closer to 15000. They operate on a bigger scale though than just that. I was reading an old article and the one guy said he will have his entire kids college cost covered by legos.

Yeah, I don't think investing in potential collectibles means that you don't also buy those same things for enjoyment.

Presumably they have decent judgment of future valuable sets precisely because they DO buy the regular sets for enjoyment and keep up with the hobby.

I've thought about getting into flipping LEGO sets in the past, but I just don't like the storage-related risks of an item that potentially deteriorates (same goes for collecting sealed or mint CIB to sell later).

Also to do it in a meaningful scale you need serious storage space.

    The Exo suit.

    http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Exo-Suit-21109

Says out of stock, expected ship date 17 AUG, but it let me order successfully, so presumably they ARE going to be in stock.

The Amazon prices are pretty disgusting when you can just buy it from LEGO directly...

(I'd thought about the Ghostbusters set, but really I don't think it was done as well as the Back to the Future set... AND it was twice as expensive as most of the CUUSOO sets)
  • oh yeah ive seen that one.

idk whats going on but i can't even go on the lego site....

seems like the lego site is all broken.... server errors

site is really buggy but I managed to order one too hehe

this is the set that i'd like...but 2bills eep!

    http://shop.lego.com/en-US/The-Tumbler-76023?fromListing=listing

man.... makes me want the lego 7784 set too....

never really gotten my hands on that set, would have to find some trade to get it >.<
  • I really hope the Ghostbusters Firehouse gets made. I just threw my support behind it on Cuusoo.
  • Picked up a bin of legos over the weekend. Can't find games any more so might as well switch to legos.

There are several half complete things in the bin which is kind of cool. Here are the three largest partially complete things. Since you are all lego pros can you figure out which set these are from?

And if you want more to try and guess I got more!

  • ^^^ If you do a search, there are a few LEGO parts/set databases out there.

Focus on looking up the specialty pieces to narrow your search.
  • brick set.

type part number in search parts category. There is a drop down box at the top right that defaults to set. Switch it to parts. Put in the number itll tell you which sets that piece is in. So itll be easy to find yours.
  • Welp saw the cantina star wars set at target. Wanted it day 1 but lego.com sold out and was not expecting them to ship for a week or two. So i had to have it when i saw it at target today. Looks awesome.
