What's the best "Buy It Now" deal you've ever seen?

Hello. I'm not sure where this thread belongs...

What is the best Buy It Now deal you've ever seen on Ebay? I saw a Super Smash Brothers sell for $13, and Snow Brothers go for $8.99, but they relisted it and it sold for $159.

What are some great Buy It Now deals you've seen?

  • half my collection
  • Best BIN I ever got was a CIB NES and SNES with a bunch of CIB games including a minty Power Blade 2. Paid $124 for all of it. Also saw a BIN for $15 on a CIB Ubisoft Indy that I wasnt fast enough on ><
  • While back someone had a Bubble Bobble 2 CIB BIN for like $15. I sure it's posted somewhere here.
  • About a year ago I saw a lot of games in box, maybe 4 or 5, with one of them being a factory sealed Bucky O'Hare for like 45 bucks BIN... I just missed it....
  • A Lotus for 50p back in 2005: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/west_midlands/4122842.stm

The best eBay BINs I can remember myself getting recently (~1 year) were 27 NES carts including Wacky Races for $35 shipped. Then again, I haven't been BIN hunting much lately.
  • I saw one of the Panesians go for $150 last year. Not sure if that was someone here. I always wondered if they got back doored.

that's the one I was going to mention. $16.47 I think, and I'm pretty sure it went to twobrothers or some other reseller who promtply relisted it at $499.
  • I got a cib pal megaman x 2 just over a year ago for £30
  • Best one I snagged personally was a $25 CIB Sculptor's Cut, but it was back in 2009/2010 when it was around $250-$300 as a CIB ($1.2-$1.5k now).
  • RC Pro Am 1 & 2, together for $20. Clicked on it and sold just as quick.
  • Top loader with like 15 carts for $129. One of the carts was a stadium events. I missed it by seconds.

This was several years ago before collecting really took off but still someone got a once in a lifetime find on that one.
  • got chronotrigger cib for 40 and earthbound cib for 250 this year...those are my personal best's lol.
  • this year i buy hammerin harry . little samson, ghost and goblins and 3 more cartriges for 38$
  • I bought a flintstones peak cib for $23 but that was back when the buy it now option was new, so it was a long time ago. The game actually didnt sell for too much then but was still a fair deal at the time. It now looks alot better though and I actually still own this one.
  • Ehh...never search them much because there's just too many people with too much time on their hands and ios/android apps that'll snap stuff up for them. I have personally had two fairly nice cheap BIN scores though. $25 shipped for Lufia 2 with the manual and poster but it was rough paper. And then for $60 shipped I got Faria with the mail away map back when the map was still worth like $100 or something.
  • I agree Tanooki. I rarely check for good buy it nows anymore because it is too competitive now days. I actually did find a Myriad cartridge a couple months ago for around $300 but got backdoored so what's the point. The seller told me he was contacted that it was worth atleast $600, and he had relisted it. He still undervalued it which is funny. There are too many jealous people in the hobby and it seems everytime I see a great buy it now under completed listing, I then see the game relisted for alot more. Too many people tell sellers if they sell stuff cheap because they are mad and jealous they didn't find the auction first. However, if they find a deal and click the buy it now first, I guarantee they don't say a word.
  • In the past month I got a CIB Mario bros. Arcade classics in decent shape for $15 shipped.

I also got a decent CIB lot of Nes games for $85 shipped which included a decent copy of balloon fight.

About a year ago I got a nice lot of CIB Nes games which included near mint copies of Zelda, kid Icarus, mach rider, ghosts n goblins, and about 10 other CIB games for $150 shipped.

I also got a duck tales 2 cart in beautiful shape for $85 shipped (not the best deal ever, but a good one to say the least)

Also I found a beautiful condition CIB copy of chiller for $60.

I know there are others but can't think of them ATM.

It doesn't take that long to look, I find lots of great stuff this way.

It is certainly cheaper in the wild, but finding this stuff for these prices is hard to pass up...
  • Mega Man X2 & X3 for about $10 each a long time ago, also a big SNES lot for $400 with 15+ CIB's that included ISS, ISSD, Megaman X, X2, X3 & 7, more recently I scored a Power Blade 2 for $50, and I'm still waiting for a Mega Man 7 that I bought for $8, I hope the seller doesn't back out!
  • I have a couple questions about how BIN works for good deals... Can people use programs that will instantly buy an item as soon as they open the page, so they have an advantage? Also, do the good deals get taken within 5 seconds, or 1 minute, or what?

And what exactly is backdooring? And isn't it against the terms?
  • Not too long ago I spotted a buy it now that sold for $80: 2 copies of Hagane and 2 Earthbounds.

Best I picked up: all 5 Mega Mans CIB and mint for GB for $150

Biggest CL disappointment- missed a $75 listing for an NES with 8 games, with Bonks Adventure and Mighty Final Fight among them! Still stings
  • i'm with quest4nes, pretty much anything i buy is NOT market value lmao! high five for being cheap!
  • Bakdooring is when someone contacts te seller before they ship it out and offer them more for te item

Those were fake copies of those games. They got relisted.

  • That three ninjas snes was CIB on ebay for $30 or so last year. I didn't get it, but it was up for a good 30 seconds before someone did.

I'm fairly sure there are programs that will automatically buy things for people when they meet certain criteria put into the program like item name and price range. So that they don't even have to be on the computer when it's bought. Depends on the deal, but generally the especially great ones are gone in a matter of seconds, yeah. Backdooring is against the rules but ebay very rarely if ever does anything about it. The best you can do is leave negative feedback and move on.

  • My best EBAY BIN was a complete copy of Enemy Zero for Sega Saturn, $14 bucks, that was earlier this year...

Not great for a single game i guess, but great for someone looking to actually play the game.
  • A couple of years ago I scored a BIN with a system + 7 games for 75 Euro... including a nice CIB Snow Bros
  • $40 Star Fox Comp cart
  • Most of my collection outside of garage sale/thrift store finds has been buy it nows.. However I think my favorite one in recent memory was for a complete in box copy of earthbound for $80.. After I bought it, I asked the seller what other titles he had.. he said tell me what you are looking for. I sent him a list, heard nothing for three days.. I end up hearing back the same day I received the game.. He said he inherited an rpg collection and decided to donate them all.. But as a thank you for my patience, he put in the box a free game. Shure as heck I opened the box to find a complete in box copy of shining force 2!
