Weirdest video game you've ever found in the wild?

I can't sleep, and I just bought some famiclone games at a thrift shop earlier today, I could not find a sytem there but for the $3 I paid, I think I've got a pretty marvelous pirat cart.

I haven't scrolled through everything yet, and pretty much every other thing on it in super mario bros, but there are actually numbers for games 1 though 9,999,999.

What's the weirdest video game, or video game thing you guys have ever found in the wild?

  • Here's my entry: Super Mario World Bros on the Genesis. Found at a market in Beijing.
  • I know its not rare or anything, but I found a pirated Mega Drive "Batman Revenge Of The Joker" Japanese cart, and when I played it on any on my SEGA mega drive 2's, the sprites mess up, the sounds out of time and if you jump of a ledge the game freezes. All while the music is playing.

I also found some factory sealed floppy disks for the Super Magicom at a market. I bought one, (I cant remember how much I payed) but I tested it in my floppy drive and it must of died a long time ago.

LOL are they playing volleyball on that label? Does it work and if so what game is it really?

Lol reminds me of Super Mario World 64 on the genesis
  • I found a pirate Genesis cart at my local shop. The label picture was Eternal Champions and it was titled Lethal Enforcers. I think it was actually Lethal Enforcers. Another time at the same shop I found a GB Probotector cart. I think it was the German version, which is pretty odd to find in south dakota.
  • I wouldn't say weird, I would say however creepy.

    3 months ago I found a 3DO lot at a garage sale.

Picked it up said hell yeah, a 3DO!

Didn't bother looking at the titles in the box with it.

Got home looked at everything and there was 7 softcore porno games in there.

Not only was that weird, but those were the only ones! Not one single playable game!
  • I'd say Die Schlimpfe (the smurfs) on NES CIB for $5. Everything in German!
  • I once got a C64 with lots of floppies, and amongst them were several pixelated porn floppies. Also, I found some 42 function famicom pirate that is like a crappy computer running on NES hardware. I heard that it's only fully compatible with a keyboard like famiclone.

It's actually common here in Europe. I've got several games in French, and my copy of DuckTales 2 is in german.
  • I don't think I've had any truly weird finds in the wild... I found a completely boxed TI99-4A at a yard sale with voice synthesizer and a Chess cartridge that appeared to have been purchased by a TI employee, since it had all kinds of interesting paperwork like a list of all games released for the console, various bits of company paperwork, etc. which was pretty unusual. Not exactly my cup of tea but there doesn't seem to be a huge market for that sort of thing so I've just held on to it.

Also found a Sega Pico game in the wild which I never thought I'd see, they're very graphic and colorful so I just stuck that on the shelf as well since it isn't worth beans. Looks kinda neat at least.

what is actualy on the cart?
  • ^ ok, so the game on the cart is a weird hybrid of a bunch of things. Many of the graphics, especially early on, look like they are from Super Mario All Stars, but you play as Mario and you can't jump on things. Instead you pick up boxes like in Chip n' Dale on the NES and throw them at enemies. The levels vary a lot from one to the next and although I think that a lot of the assests must be borrowed from other games I've never identified any of them. So its not just some other game on the cart, its a new game. And its actually pretty well done and very colorful- I was suprised.
  • this copy of zero mission,  works though

Hopefully they aren't all soccer games..

.My weirdest game found was this lion king 2 bootleg.  The game never had an official release and I believe was created by bootleggers.
