NES NROM Capacitor Question

I was making a TapeDump cartridge, and I got a little clumsy and whacked the capacitor on the board (not the electrolytic one, the ceramic one that looks like a resistor). I noticed the leads go between power and ground, so is this used to stabilize power for the board? What other values can be used?
Thanks!

  • 1uF +/-5% 100v
  • Pretty much any cap that's not super small should do. 1uF is probably overkill even, you'd probably get away just fine with a 100nF cap.
  • 100nF is what I like to hear since there's tons of them around the house

Thanks for the input! I'll post back with results. It was really surprising how easily it broke; I barely tapped it and it just became dust...
