Sometimes honesty pays
So I check Kijiji yesterday afternoon and a "Nintendo console with 5 games - $100" ad pops up. Been posted 9 minutes. Check it, all games CIB, no names of games, everything looks in good condition, have everything listed, move on, realize what I just saw, go back, quiver a bit, call immediately.
Excuse me, is the Nintendo still for sale?
Yes but My phone has been ringing for the last 6 minutes non stop and some guy just offered me $50 more ($150).
I think I'd be willing to offer $200 if I could pop by to get it right now?
Well it seems there lots of interest, I might wait to see how high offers go. Can I call you back shortly?
Yes, name and number given.
*10 minutes*
Call again, busy, busy, picks up.
Hi we just spoke about 10 minutes ago, have you decided to still wait for offers?
Im not sure, my phone won't stop ringing.
*Internal Sigh* well you have 1 rare game with you Nintendo stuff that's why there is so much attention.
Long conversation ending in, can I swing by to just check the condition of the game, box, manual? I may be willing to offer more depending on the condition.
Show up and honesty pays, husband and wife were happy to sell to me at double their asking price ($200) even though they were still be pestered with higher offers with no reason given.
Ended up asking for more Nintendo stuff and they tossed in a SNES with 13 games for $90 more ($290 total). Get home to find that in my tunnel vision I missed there was a Final Fight 3 (not in super great shape though) in there (double score!)
Pretty happy to score a rarity like this within 10 minutes of my house for about $100. Not the score of the century, but still pretty sweet.

The funny thing is what you did there is what I did about a year and a half ago or so locally (out west) too. This SNES went up for $120 with like 20~ games which had a terrible quality pulled back fuzzy image but MMX3 was clear in front. I called and was #3, got to talking to the guy and I was straight up honest with him figuring it would be fair. I let him know why he was being pounded was that one game as it's worth X (at the time) depending on shape of it. I had to hang up due to the wife and seeing if I had the dough in the bank, called back 10min later, busy, hung up on...grrr, called again and I interrupted before he hung up saying who I was. He was pissed that his email was stuck, his voice mail was overloaded, and his text box was jacked. Said 2 other clowns told him MMX3 was only worth $10 and they'd just pay that for it. He liked I was so nice and honest with him about it and other stuff in there, and because it was his brothers and they both didn't want more, he let me have it -- DELIVERED no less to near my place (he was 25~min away.) Sometimes when you have a lot of predatory reseller dicks in your area, being nice, fair, and honest actually is the best policy. You may get a generous return on a low original or agreed price, or you may end up paying a good bit more, but at least you have what you want and they get what they want and left alone from sharks.
Frigusoris, I have a few loose and a few CIB SNES floating around. Been purging a bit to focus more on my NES and N64. Nothing super rare. PM me with what you are looking for.
I've found that it can be difficult to determine price on rarer games. Last CIB Gun Nac sale appears to be $300. What do you guys figure it is worth?
As well I couldn't find much on The Untouchables CIB for NES either. I know it's tougher to find since it was one of the games that was mainly produced on SNES. Any thoughts on price for this as well?
