Moon Patrol homebrew?

I think it would be awesome if the NES homebrew scene did NES ports of classic arcade games

the first game that would be proper for this will be Moon Patrol as the game is perfect for the NES

Please make it happen

  • You should ready the FAQ of why if you want it, you should start on it.
  • This game in particular is mentioned at least once every six months when people start suggesting games they want to see. If you make it you'll make a fortune.
  • If you want to read a giant wall of text that only serves to get the NES to load up graphics alone, go for it.

I'm not sure if it's the tutorial's fault or if the NES really needed more work than most people would grasp to accomplish even the simplest of things. It would take a single person an entire year and two summers to make an exact port of ET when the original programmer did it within a month and a half.
  • I dunno, 95% of my Kaboom game was done in EXACTLY 1 month to make a deadline for a...hmm..."competition" entry. It wasn't too bad, although it was the 3rd rewrite, and the tools were already done so it's technically a head start, but it took less than a month and it's pretty damn close to the original, although a downport would definitely have taken more time than to write it taking advantage of all the NES's hardware, as I was pretty versed in how my design needed to be implemented.
  • Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could finish E.T. in two months, even only messing around at night.
