  • always fluke auctions like that! crazy people!
  • you gotta remember, millionaires & celebrities are bound to use eBay too

    i hate rich people; ;

  • wow i better complete my set while its still affordable.
  • My MIB set is looking like a better and better deal image
  • Yah, if people are going to pay $100+ for each game your set is a steal Bucky!
  • Wow...way overpriced.
  • ^yah, I picked mine up in an eBay store (after it had set for a while) for half that, and it still had the factory wrapper on it.

EDIT: this was like 6-7 mos. ago though..
  • not more than 2 weeks ago, an auction with a cib mm1 and mm2 ended for around 50-60. it was poorly listed though, but i still didnt want to pull the trigger on it. maybe i shoulda! image
  • I paid $80 for my mint copy, but the box was rediculously good looking.  I asked for better pics before buying it, too.  I saw the one for $35, and almost bid on it to have as a trade copy.

  • Very nice! I am a sucker for MINT games.
  • very very sexy nesguy
  • wow, that's gorgeous
  • I got my MM1 box+manual at a yard sale for $1. Had the game already image.

Not as pretty as those listed though.
  • What the hell! That game is certainly not worth $135!!
  • I'm glad I paid $100 for all six of them boxed at the flea market.
  • Why did they ever use that box art for megaman ... its sooo bad! the Japanease artwork for rockman is so much beter. Every time i see that box i always wonder...
  • Yeah, that thing isn't worth anywhere near what it ended at, especially considering he mentions it has shelfwear on the box. Maybe we're all the butt of the joke, because 2-3 people message the seller, and it turned out to be the 5-screw cart image

(I know it's not the 5-screw, because I can see the tabs on the top of the cart, too).
  • The winner was a Megaman fanatic it would seem. Past won auctions include Megaman clock, action figures and the other games.

Obviously just really wanted one now.
  • The upcoming release of Megaman 9 may have something to do with the bump in prices, since it's a NES look-a-like.
  • I just sold a MM 2 boxed for the gameboy for i think $50. I was expecting $25.

Yeah this might have something to do with it. Still, NES stuff keeps breaking a new record with every auction! Prices continue to rise ...
  • I'm sure the virtual console and xbox arcade in general have a lot to do with renewed interest in everything retro. I'd argue that the increased interest in retro is actually the reason why Mega Man 9 is coming out... not the other way around.
  • ^^^ Good call. I would imagine that makes more business sense for Capcom, than the other way around.

  • Yeah, MM1 was just released on Wii's VC

that's about time... mebbe they will be faster in getting mm2 out now.

megaman games have and always will be overpriced, especially complete.   They made thousands upon thousands of them and they are some of the best games on the NES.

With that said even if the box art is shitty, i'd love to get my hands on a complete 5 screw Mega Man 1.  i' d pay very good money for a minty one.

I second that.  But getting a matching hangtab box (thats real) is  going to be even tougher.

    Al

  • I will 3rd all of the above... paying whatever for Mega Man 5 screw and whatever plus a buck for matching box.
  • There are only 2 MM1 5-screw carts known right now, correct? dangevin's and ???'s.

Didn't Dan say he paid $125 for his? I wonder how much that would take in an open auction here.  I'd probably pay double that for it, at the very least.
  • i think a sealed collector out there has one...
