Came up with a plan

Ive been to several very large flea markets and really havent seen squat as far as video games go. Im going to try something if it works woo hoo. Im going to start buying big lots off ebay and sell them at the flea market. I picked up a lot of 213 sega genesis games for 300.00 dollars just a little over 1.00 each .Im going to take them to the flea market and try and sell them for 5.00 each. Hopefully the resellers will buy up a bunch of them if so Im going to run the reverse. Instead of buying and selling on ebay Im going to buy from ebay and sell at the flea market.

  • If you turn a good enough business make sure you get a ridiculous sign talking about buying games. They'll dump your new stock right there on the table. Selling is the way to buy in more ways than one.
  • Thats seems like a good idea, even if you sell a bunch for $3 or $4 you'll make a lot of money.  I went to a couple flea markets last weekend and didn't see any NES stuff, do you guys usually have good luck with them?

  • It works in my area, but our flea markets might be structured a little different.  I rent a locking case, price everything I add, and they sell it for me.  Only extra fees I have is if someone pays with a credit card.  This is how I fund my personal collection.  Here is a pic of my booth at the begining of May:

Just the right side of the case is mine.  NES games and various systems sell like crazy, but then again I don't really over price my stuff.  This is actually the cheapest place in my town you can get classic games (not trying to brag, but I based my prices on the local market).  The only way you can get a nintendo, ps1, N64, dreamcast, saturn, sega game cheaper is by going to Game Crazy and getting there 3 for $10 deal.
  • you in the states we dont have any indoor flea markets
  • yeah we dont have indoor flea markets either.... thats wierd.... I go to gamecrazy all the time too for the 3 for 10 deal. It is how I have gotten pretty much all of my expensive N64 games... Ive gotten all the mario partys, Ogre battle, Harvest moon and many others for just 3 dollars... (sorry for going off topic) image

Yep, in the heart of Missouri.  We actually have another indoor flea market besides the one I have my booth at.
  • There are nothing but indoor feal markets here in TN. The 3 main ones I go to are all indoors. I know of like 5-6 within 60 miles that are indoor, and can only think of 2 outdoor ones in fact.

  • That is too damn funny, I recognize that indoor flea market in Missouri. I dated a girl for a couple years who lived here in WA but her mom lived in Missouri. So one year we drove down there and I made sure to go to all of those things.... She hated it but who cares it was fun for me and I broke up with her anyways. It's just funny that I recognize that place. Got to go to a Royals game too... only baseball park I've been to where you could walk up to the damn door and buy front row tickets for $10, LOL... man the Royals suck, sorry!
  • We've got a mix of indoor and outdoor flea markets here. The outdoor markets are open usually May - October, and the indoor markets go all year. There's lots of resellers though, and have retardedly high prices on NES games, usually $8-10 bucks a cart. I usually look through their games for rares, but they never have anything.

    Simpsons reference?
  • Missouri eh? I'm just a shout north of you in Omaha, Nebraska.
  • well im going to give this another try this saturday
  • the flea markets in chicago tend to have an outdoor and indoor portion, usually the guys on the outside are the ones who have the good deals on games, because they do stuff like clear out storage units for the companies who have people who have not paid their bills and wind up with tons of random crap they sell dirt cheap. The indoor guys tend to know what the shit is worth if they have a video game booth. One guy sold me a minty CIB contra III for $25, and one time he screwed up and sold me tournament fighters for $9.
  • Yeah, I am so ashamed to be a white sox fan right now, because the royals suck so bad, and the sox have the same record as them.
