Saturday Garage Sale Score

Been pityful lately trying to find anything. Saw the worst looking sale across from another one. Looked so bad, I didn't even want to go. But I did. Wasn't going to ask the woman if she had any old video game stuff, but I did. She told me her husband "might" have some and told me to wait.

He brought out two boxes. One of SNES and one of NES.

I was expecting the usual beat up console with a few games. But in the end I walked out of that driveway with THIS:

Zelda is sadly not there, but all the paper work is.

I will not mention how much I paid. Let's just say it was under $150.

  • Freekin sweet man wow. always gota ask
  • After driving to a fake garage sale listing this weekend boasting SNES, NES, and n64 all up for grabs, nothing but hate bro.................but thats sweet lol
  • This is nice revenge find for the phony garage sale idiots I've dealt with. That crap is nothing new near me.
  • Wow amazing how much you can polish out of a turd if you try. Been looking to get that CT guide for awhile and it looks like you got one in very nice shape.
  • The boxes for most of the games are beat and missing the inner cardboard. But aside from that, everything is pretty much adult owned condition.

I know this guy has more (including the Zelda he said should be in the box, but wasn't). I saw the Chrono Trigger and Mario RPG and know I had to buy the box. He said he had handheld stuff and there is some Game Boy and Game Gear manuals, but I'm not going to push my luck and go back.

This is oddly the second Chrono Trigger I found this summer, both with the guide. I sold the first guide and regretted it. Now I got one and not letting go.
  • Wow thats amazing what you can find at garage sales
  • I wish I went to garage sales, but it's always like I let my ego get the best of me. Like I just wont allow myself to go rummaging through other peoples junk on my day off

But I am definitely jealous of the official guides....I'm starting to get in the mood to want to collect these as the only official ones I have are Earthbound, Game Boy Camera, Mario 64, and Goldeneye. That isn't the official Final Fantasy III guide you have, but the one you do have is the one I used to go to the bookstore to get hints at all the time as a kid
  • Those are one of those finds that keep people going every weekend. I wish I had the time to hit up sales, work takes up most of my time now though :-/ Great find man!
  • Yeah work kills my weekends too... I hate having 2 jobs sometimes.

    Nice finds though dude!
  • I'm a restaurant GM so until September it's all day shifts Thurs-Sun. Went to my first yard sales last week. Didn't want it but I grabbed Duke Nukem on PS1 just so I came home with something!
  • I really want that black blanket you have underneath the games.

Ain't it amazing what you can get just by asking?
  • saweeeet find man. congrats
  • I'm still amazed when anyone finds anything at a garage sales let alone scores this epic.

Why would you not want to go back? You know the guy has more cheap boxes of epic gamingness. At worst you could just pass on them.
