Nicest Customer Ever

So I work at a Safeway, I know nice cooshy job, right? I try to make an effort to ask my co-workers to see if they have any old games they wanna get rid of. I had a really big score with a nice dude I work with, which I already posted about, but I haven't had much luck for a while. So I was helping this lady in my line and, I am not sure how this came up, I told her I liked video games. Little did I know that that one off handed comment caused her to rush home, dig through her son's old stuff only to come back to the store the next day to hand me a giant gallon sized ziplock baggie full of N64 games.

There wasn't anything too exciting in the lot, but the fact that someone was so nice to do something like that for me...it was just awesome. I wanted to give her something for the games, but she flat out refused. I gave her a nice big hug at least. So yeah, this is one of the reasons I still believe that good people, not only still exist, but are all around us.

  • That was indeed very nice of her! Great story!
  • Yeah, I have a similar story. Someone literally five minutes away from where I live replied to my CL ad looking for video games, and had a NES and 20 games. I walked over to the person's house, and she handed me the big box full of everything, and she told me I didn't have to pay for anything. Upon digging through the box, I found that there were like 20-30 manuals in there
  • That is a really cool story. I had a friend at my old job once sell me all their games, but I still paid a pretty good amount. I helped them and they helped me. Still cool to see a customer do that though!
  • Someone in high school gave me "Silent Hill 3" years ago when I told them I wanted to play it really badly.

    That guy was awesome.
  • Great story.
  • Nothing in this story makes sense. Working? No one does that any more. You mention another dude, no one scores multiple games from a single place. That's another flag. And that lady stole those games from her kids to sell them cheap for crack money.

And a hug? What is that? The currency of a small country in Europe? I've never heard of anyone paying for games in "hugs." I'd watch out if I were you. Her "son" may show up and shank you for taking his games.

Also where is the murder? All good game deals are usually the result of someone's death. Nobody "just" sells or gives games away. Thats just absurd.

    Grats, by the way.

The original silent hill wasn't even out yet, let alone in development when I was in high school.

And you say "years ago" for SH 3, wtf...lol

    Wow I feel old.
  • Haha. I'm on the younger side of NA Ita okay grandpa! (kidding :B)
