CGE Roll Call

Just kinda curious who all is going from NA. Would be kinda cool to meet some of the people I've been getting to know over the last couple years image

  • I am going to try and see if I can swing the cost of the trip or not. I am coming if I can reasonable afford to do so. Maybe I should stop spending $$$. It would be freaking cool if we could setup a NintendoAGE both or something.

  • I'm going with my girlfriend. We have our plane and hotel tickets already. Hopefully she finds something to do while I'm buying games.
  • Maybe she could hang out with my girlfriend. She's coming too, and she's gonna look for a few games, but most of the other stuff at CGE would bore her, and I know she wants to see a few sights and crap image
  • I'm in like Flynn, but you already knew that you devilish wizard image
  • Of course I know, we bought our tickets together!
  • I thought about it but am to cheap to spend 1500.00 dollars
  • are there any good events on the east coast during the summer months
  • I should be there!! Vegas is only about 9 hours from me so Ill probably make the drive... Only problem is that its held on my bros Bday.... He dont play video games or I would just take him with me image
  • Heh, it's my girlfriend's birthday weekend too. Dragging her along image
  • Come buy stuff at my booth! I will also be having an NWC contest with prizes. That was planned before I made the NWC cart...
  • I'll be buying alot of stuff at alot of booths image I heard there was going to be an NWC contest, that's pretty cool that it's you running it! I should enter it, although I will likely fail miserably at it because of my lack of SMB and Rad Racer skills image
  • NGD--PRESENT SIR!!

I am officially in for CGE now. I booked it last night. 7 days, 6 nights for the low price of $470.80 each (for me and my g/f) for roundtrip airfare and hotel. We are staying at the Sahara which is right beside the Riveria which is where CGE actually is.

    Anyone else coming?

Who did you book your trip through?  If I can do it that cheap and can get off work I might consider going.
  • Yes NGD! I'll see you there.

wow that is a good deal you go thru a website
  • I done it through Alligent Air's website. They are the local discount carrier that flys out of Knoxville. Similar to what JetBlue is. Most cities have at least 1 discount carrier and they pretty much all go to Vegas. We are flying out on the 27th and leaving on Aug. 2. The Sahara is only $43 a night during the week, so staying 3 extra days was only like 81 bucks extra each for me and my g/f. I actually found it for 30 bucks cheaper through expedia, but I thought it would just be easier to book it all at once. That price also includes shuttle service to and from the airport to the motel. image

  • Jason, if your girlfriend wants to do the touristy shit, let me know so I can send my girlfriend out with her. Don't want her wandering Vegas alone image We're over at Circus Circus with Basil, so we'd have to arrange something. Sahara was actually our second choice, but Circus Circus was cheaper image
  • Oh man, you're just going to love Circus Circus (evil laugh)

Have you ever been there? If not, I won't ruin the surprise! image
  • All I know is circus circus needs to invest in some longer sheets... I hate it when you go to lay in bed and the next thing you know your feet are touching the matress!!!! ahhhhhhh.... Im not sure if anyone else has ever had a problem but thats one thing that I cant handle. And for some reason I cant remember it happening anywhere but circus circus (my baseball team always tries to get the best deal and that seems to be the place they always stick us)... Oh and ill be going to CGE as well, still need to book a room though image
  • I don't think Christy is going to CGE, but not 100% sure yet. Should be easy enough to meet up though, cause the Sahara is pretty much across the stree from Circus Circus. We can all swap cell phone numbers or set up a meeting time for all NA members to try and get together one night or something.

  • I'll bring my NES image

That's a great idea though NGD. And no, I've never been to Circus Circus...or Vegas for that matter. But I won't have that problem with the sheets Hogie...it'll be so damn hot that I won't be able to sleep UNDER the covers. I'll be lying naked on top of the bed with the air conditioning up on full. Well, maybe I'll keep my shorts on...not just my girlfriend sharing the room image
  • After reading that I bet Dr M is having second thoughts about rooming with you wiz, lol hahaha

  • Ha ha... I'll only be sleeping like five hours per morning while I'm down there anyway; Mike can roll around on his bedsheets all he wants the rest of the time. I don't understand the "so damn hot" comment, though. Maybe if it was the year 1880 it would be an issue, but I think even a cheap hotel like CC got it's a/c figured out like 60 years ago image
  • I had the AC up to full in Chicago and I still couldn't handle the heat. And that was in October. So the middle of the desert in July is going to be deadly.
  • If you've never been to Vegas, it's VERY hot in July/August (well over 100). The good news is that there are a lot of casinos with a mist sprayer at the entrance and a A/C fan to cool you off. That, and most casinos internal A/C is fantastic -- they spend a lot of money making sure their patrons are comfortable.

Are you from the Arctic Circle or something?
  • Pretty damn close.
  • The thing is, I've been to Vegas and places like it like Salt Lake City, as and hot as it is, its dry heat. Here in Canada, when it gets hot, it gets humid as HELL. So it feels like its a lot hotter and it drains the energy out of you. In places like Vegas sweating is really effective so it doesn't seem that bad.

You're from out east aren't you. I'm in Alberta, it's only damp during the rainy season.
