HI, retro gamer from Georgia here
The state, not the country. I came here after learning that r/gamecollecting doesn't allow discussion of reproductions, which is probably my #1 interest right now. Kinda new to game collecting. So what's up!
I was a hardcore console gamer until I got sucked into WoW. Favorite game of all time is Super Metroid though. Retro gaming means never having to worry about developers screwing around and ruining the game.

Blehhh reproductions. I'm not a fan. Welcome aboard, though!
Thanks, I'm actually not a big fan of rom hacks or mods, they're usually pretty crappy. I just want to be able to play some of the classics that never made it to the states.

Those are actually completely ok, as long as they're distinguishable from their foreign counterparts. Check out jjrepro if you're into SNES stuff. Just don't even think about making exact repros of actual US stuff

I haven't gotten into SNES... yet. Most of the games I would want (like Super Metroid) are more expensive than the console! Definitely a barrier to entry.

I totally get that. I think that's great that people are making those kinds of games that were never available in their country. We missed out on some great Japanese releases.
