5/2/14

The games have been posted! Results will be up soon. http://nesdevcompo.nintendoage.com/contest14/

4/1/14

Alright guys, this is the last day to get your entries in! Apparently there has been a bit of trouble with some submissions (google likes to block attachments with .exe files inside).  If you have submitted something and you haven't heard back from me, PLEASE send me a message ASAP

3/24/14

One week to go, just thought I bump this and put a little reminder out.  The website was updated not too long ago and has a tally of the people who have registered.

OLD

It's that time again, and things are finally in order. Head on over to http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=10748 for details.

This year there will be over $900 in cash prizes plus hardware prizes as well!

EDIT

The website has been updated with the current rules and guidelines.  Please check them out and register if you plan on submitting an entry.  http://nesdevcompo.nintendoage.com

Yea, I'm going to try and get something this year as well. I've got a few loose ends to tie up first

  • I will probably be able to submit a demo of The Legends of Owlia for the "anything goes" category. I have some ideas for the "main" categories, but I'm not sure when I'll find time to make those. Maybe next year!
  • Bah, I think I'm about 2 months behind in learning lol.

I have a general gist of what goes into makin a game, but actually learning the ASM I think will take longer than I'd be able to actually get something done in time for the contest.

    *shrug* oh well lol.
  • Hunh, I wonder if my game will be done in time for this!
  • Could there be an option where ypwe donot give rights for the game to be on the multicart, but if we win, we get a lower reward?

You could always submit it in category 3. There is nothing saying you can't release it separately yourself if you submitted it in Category 1/2.
  • I've been racking my brain for days trying to think of a decent idea for the competition and finally hit upon one today while substituting in a grammar school library! Picture book covers are ripe with great 8-Bit ideas. It is simple, but we will have to see if my current skill set is up to it. If not this year, maybe next year Does one need to register prior to submitting on the April 1 deadline?
  • loved the last multi cart release, excited to see how this turns out.

The registration will mostly gauge how many people are signing up, for sending out email reminders, and to notify participants of updates.
  • To the top! Check out the website for updated details. Let me know if it all makes sense.
  • BUMP! Anyone here actually submitting anything? Just curious!
  • Not this year... which sucks because I wanted another one of those premium cartridges from the release.
  • BUMP - TIME IS TICKING!!!
