My Little Pony - Dr. Discord's Conquest

I know. I know. This is a hack, not a real homebrew game.



That said. I am making a cartridge of the excellent Megaman 3 hack based on My Little Pony.



In so doing, I have designed a box and label for it. And am looking for opinions. What do you guys think? If opinions are positive, I'll upload full 600DPI PNG composites for people to print. I'm still working on a manual. (Yes, that front is shamelessly aped from IDW Comics MLP: FIM #7. Modified to fit my needs.)

    Yup. That is, in fact, Riker. Took that shot from Star Trek: TNG for NES.



    I know, it's an odd connection "What does Star Trek have to do with anything?" etc.



    The answer is: Not really anything. It's just fitting with the chaotic theme. But if you want to stretch, Discord is a magical chaoslord voiced by John de Lancie.

    Twilight Sparkle murdering her rampaging friends. That's about as horrific as MLP can get.



    It wasn't meant as something too serious, just a little touch that I felt fit the theme, as James mentioned

    I'm not a MLP fan at ALL, but I could see myself buying this for when my wife and I babysit my niece and nephew, quality work on the box and label art.



    Seems like this might have some level hacking in it also, has someone actually played it start to finish yet?

    I've finished the first 8 levels, all different with music from other games. It's pretty easy so far, as far as Megaman hacks and the games in general are. I might check out the rest today.



    I'm not a MLP fan at all, but as a Megaman hack fan, this mashup is too funny to not have in physical form, for me.







    Edit: Finished it. The manageable difficulty made it very enjoyable. While a lot of hacks have difficulties that beg emulation (savestates), this one is fair from start to finish.

    Loaded this game up on the Powerpak earlier to give it a shot. I know absolutely nothing about the show but as a Mega Man hack it's actually really good. Quite a few changes from the original game and also relatively easy to beat which is a nice change of pace from most of the Mega Man hacks I've tried.

    yeah my 5 year old daughter loves this game. And its cool cuz its not "mega man" hard so kids can enjoy playing it.

    I've watched a Youtube playthrough and the hack looks pretty cool.



    I also like the box you made for it, think it matches the MLPness of it great.
