Not as of yet. Basically, the top bidder was issued a non-paying bidder strike by ebay (little does that help me.) I offered the title to the second highest bidder and gave them until today to respond. My guess is they won't. The best I can do is offer it to another bidder after the day time frame has expired to see if this next person really wanted the cart. I could just relist it so the entire world knows how much of a fraud ebay is not protecting sellers but I'm not sure that's the right course of action either at this point. This is the holding pattern for now...second chance offer it to the next person, wait a day, second chance offer it to the next person, wait a day, etc, etc.
It's truly unfortunately that that happened to you. I just can't believe some people. I wish you the best of luck selling your game, you have one hell of a piece of Nintendo history.
God what a pain in the ass to read. It sucks this all had to happen Muresan, but it's cool to know that there is someone near me that this is all happening to. I swear like 50% of collectors are from NC lol
If anyone here wants it, shoot me a PM. Definitely looking more for it than I did last week, but that doesn't mean we won't be able to work something out.
Oh, and before anyone jumps on me for the way I listed it:
- Yes, I am aware that my hype is over the top.
- No, I don't actually think Muresan's copy is now the most expensive game ever sold.
- Yes, I am only listing it right now, and for a higher price than I previously had, in hopes that I cash in on foolish media hype.

Wish you the best and hopefully one of the top bidders pulls through for you. Really what great exposure with the news, etc to the video game collectible market and your listed game was all part of that which is very cool.

Ha ha, good luck with the sale! And I love the transparency. Also, I'm hoping that you saw my earlier post where I suggested this cart be called just the "grail" and not the "holy grail" because that is how you listed it - so I love that as well. This could get interesting...
If you're trying to bilk morons out of their money for an item, you probably shouldn't say it publicly on a thread that has been linked by multiple news sources and eBay itself.
Thanks for the update! I think most of the community is behind you finding the best way for you to get paid the most amount, with the least amount of hassle, while exposing the treacherous flaws in Ebay's system with a situation like this. Again, best if luck my friend. Keep us updated.
While it can suck from the seller's perspective, there is nothing "treacherous" about it.
the seller loses nothing when a buyer doesn't pay. It is simply irritating, but there is no real loss.
Actually, Muresan has definitely gotten screwed in all of this.
A) He lost the "first to market advantage", a simple profit maximizing strategy in business. He was the first publicly listed NWC after a bit of a drought (Few months maybe?). Being the first to sell after a drought can have huge benefits.
He's now gotten competition from other sellers listing their copies. This affects him in two ways. One, they are all going to be must nicer copies than his, so he loses on the basis of condition. Two, if anyone believes any of these "new bidders with money" were legit, they just went from thinking this is a rare holy grail to a rare item that plenty of people are willing to sell.
Of course people will try to cash in on the hype, that is to be expected. But this is way more than a minor inconvenience to the seller. At best, he can take it off the market and hope to list in a few months and hope to sell after a drought again. At worst, he's losing chunks of money due to competition.

Not morons, just people who speculate the value to increase more than I think it will.
Coupled with the fact that I have a few five figure and many four figure video game sales under my belt, and I'm sure I'll turn out just fine.
That is a valid point. But I think the first to market concept has to do with having significant lead item and superior name recognition in ongoing sales. Not sure it applies the same way to individual sales of collectibles.

Wow this has devolved into a troll feeding frenzy. Best to just use the foe feature and move on.
Agreed but it sure was a hilarious read. Fighting on the internet is just the cool thing to do don't ya know?!

Hold up! But I created this thread about the famous one, which was later linked to news sites, and later in the thread mentions my own copy...
So I'm pretty sure mine is famous by proxy. Internet famous!!!11!!
I hope everyone has had their fill---and I'm sick of reading it.
^jokes and light hearted humor are welcome however.
Oh, and I'd like to personally dedicate this post to Th0rpe.
