My heart almost dropped

Haven't been to any of the local stores here in town for a while so I dropped by one after I had some lunch.  Saw in a glass case they had more CIB games all of which were terribly priced high.  Anyways, looked on the top shelf and saw a CHEETAHMEN 2 game for $180 CIB.  Then I noticed on the celophane there was an autograph in silver maker/pen and I vaugely remember the original creator of the game (I think that info is correct) re-released the game on a purple NES cartridge and autographed all the copies.  Now, I have no idea what this copy goes for but I sure was dissapointed that it wasnt the original. 



Just thought I'd share an odd story of local retro game store finds even though I didn't buy it, it seems weird that this store would have this game even more odd that the store had the reproduction CIB of this game.



The guy when I asked to see the game was all "I need to see some form of ID" like I was fucking going to run out with their game they bought off someone for $5-10.  Pffffftt

    Edit: I am not sure of the value but if the store person is so worried, CCTV cameras should be sufficient. What he did is offensive and is like saying, "you are a potential theif".

    HA! Yeah the resigned copy got released for $60 i believe. I seen one sell on Ebay for $400 once but i don't think they guy new what he was buying cause they are not worth that much. Its always exciting to find something cool in the case but they look at the price tag.. Then come back a week later and realize someone actually paid that price cause its gone.

    180 is about the going rate I'd say, so I would say the are knowledgeable about repro prices
