There's a middle-aged man talking and crying to himself in front of me in the computer lab...

  • Well to be fair I have 4 favorite episodes... I didn't mention Relics... one of the best. For the Non Geek it's the episode where the Enterprise encounters the U.S.S. Jenolen, which crashed 75 years ago, on the surface of a tremendous gravitational force known as a Dyson Sphere. And who do they find but good ol Fat Bastard himself... no wait I mean Scotty.

I loved that episode with him drinking Synthehol and them having to rebuild the original set of the Enterprise bridge. Some great lines in that episode... "Computer, show me the bridge of the Enterprise... no bloody A,B,C, or D."

Or another one when Scotty is talking to LaForge in engineering... When LaForge tells Picard it will take 10 hours and Scotty says "How long will it really take?" "I told the captain it would take 10 hours because it will take 10 hours." "Ugh you didn't tell him the truth... how do you ever expect to get the reputation of a mircale worker that way?" HAHA!!
  • You know, despite the Picard avatar, DS9 is actually my personal favorite of all the series image

Edit (because Erik posted while I was writing): Relic was an awesome episode, too.  Hmm... not a very action-packed episode, is it?!  image

  • Trials and Tribble-ations blew me away. Since you mentioned the recreation of the bridge in Relics, Erik, only fair to mention this DS9 gem. I never got to see it until I owned the DVD box set, and it completely lived up to the hype.

Plus, Terry Farrell in the yeoman's skort was my own personal Trekkie wet dream.
  • good call dangevin, ds9 is my favourite as well after original series (love cheese!). Oh man Ive got so much to say but Ive come here late and you all have great points.....I have only just finished watching Enterprise for the first time....and have been giving it some deep thought...

First 2 seasons I really had to force myself to watch as I found it really hard going. Really enjoyed the Xindi arc and the captain getting into dark moral territory (reminded me of the DS9 ep where Sisko goes a bit dark as well.....more like this please...) and then the last season was pretty hit and miss but the mirror universe double parter had me clapping my hands and for me was even a bit more awesome then the tribble DS9 for some reason (Terry Farrell in yeomans skirt was super awesome though)... Im sold when anything original series is included in 'modern' trek episodes though. The last episode was a bit of a fizzer though sadly for me.

Im all excited about the new film though.

I love trek very much, but my favourite bits are the nastier more human and morally ambiguous parts which is why Im also totally addicted to new Battlestar Gallactica....so mean and nasty and about everyone fucking up and getting pissed and dying I really dig the dark edge to it its a great counter part to treks clean-ness (you know what I mean)
  • I loved DS9 as well, but prefer TNG. So many of the DS9 episodes and story arcs just feel so hopeless.
  • that might be why I liked it so much. If the Dominion were closing in you really would feel like bending around and kissing yr arse goodbye. haha (arse)
