Bonk's Adventure

I've been on a hiatus from game chasing for a few months, but then I went out today for the first time in a long time and stumbled across this gem. $250 was a bit high for me--but considering the way things are going, maybe I should've snagged it now--but it was cool to see in the wild nonetheless. The label is slightly torn in places, and I'm not sure what that sticker is behind the price, but it looks like it's in decent shape.

Oh, and if you're wondering, I tried to get the owner to budge. Wasn't happening.

  • I think the game still rolls around $300 safely so as much as the price unreasonably sucks, it could suck that much more.
  • That's not too bad, I would have pounced.
  • That rip on the left of the label is pretty bad though.
  • Pass, patience can get you one in better shape for about the same. I'd never spend near going rate for something in that shape.
  • It's funny how every game in the picture is priced at $2.99, and then there's Bonk at 249.99.
  • I don't think I'd put that much $$ on it, but if the store offered decent trade credit I'd round up some of the collection and try to work out something reasonable.... But it's in a little rough shape, so I'd need to feel I'm making out a bit.
  • Are stores considered "the wild"?
  • I consider stores that get stock local to be in the wild.

  • Bonk and Panic Restaurant rarely pop up....but when they do, they are wallet breakers.
  • Say what? Man, this sucks. I bought my NES Bonk a few years ago at DK Oldies for $60. Traded it in 2012 for Shantea GBC. Now it's $250+ grrrrr...

Cest La Vie... At least PC Gingin (Famicom version) is still reasonably cheap.
  • I know this store, this is disc replay, in Mishawka I assume. Their trade in credit is pretty weak. But someone bought this game because I went in today and it wasn't there. I would never pay this much for this game.
  • Paid $200 for mine in a local game store about a year and a half ago.
  • So you found one in a retail store and didn't buy it? Where's the "keepers" part of this thread?

With the way things are going for Shantae, give it about a year or less, you'll be able to trade that Shantae for Bonk.

  • Earthbound took a big hit when Nintendo announced it for Wii-U Virtual Console. In mid summer 2013, EB released on Wii-U VC, and Shantea came out the same day on 3DS, so I've been playing it there. Somehow I doubt Shantea will ever sell for $250. At the time I made the trade in 2012, both titles were worth ~$160, so it was a fair exchange. Now Shantea is like ~$125, Bonks is twice that; oh well at least I picked up the Famicom version of Bonk's for like $30...
