  • 3 separate posts about this is a bit excessive. Auction Spotlight is to spotlight auctions going on not ask value questions. I would suggest posting in price check and doing some diligent research and please read the FAQ. Not to sound preachy but it will be send regardless.
  • Moved to price check.
  • It still hasn't been proven to be official, and it shouldn't be in the database IMO.

Is this a favourite topic in Norway lol? Or did you buy it from Xevious? I think you have a nice pirate there
  • That thread was from 2012. Hasn't there been ANY new info on this?

If not, could very well be a pirate.
  • No there hasn't, at least not on NA that I know. Xevious said he couldn't open up the cart, never said where he got the game from, never answered my comments. I'd hate to see a fellow member spend cash thinking it's a real HKG release, which it most likely isn't.

One think I have to say though, is that at least one HKG release uses the same back sticker (Chinese/English) as all Asian releases, and it's Super Mario Bros 2. But not with the 1985 date. Everything's just wrong with that Bubble Bobble 2 cart.

And I just noticed the bottom screws look like Phillips screws ??? And I've yet to see a 3-screw HK release.

Not sure how much more evidence we need to get it and Rockman 6 removed from the database as official releases. It's misleading information, and tons of people check the NA database as God's word.

I've always felt that pair was a bunch of nicely-done fakes as well, and also agree with your comments on the NA database.  This is just one of the mistakes from the db that just won't seem to die, unfortunately, and it just adds unnecessary confusion.

On another note, I think it is interesting how these two games made it into the database with so little information on them, yet I had to fight tooth and nail to get the Sachen 72 pin carts to be removed from Taiwanese "releases" to elsewhere.

Yup.  There were still various releases for various regions, but no one seems to want that information updated so...

But yeah, back to these HK games, I've always found them to be just glorified fakes.

  • If they're fakes then that would make them mere pirates I guess then, high quality but still pirates.
  • i got the game from Xevious, and thinking about selling it, havent opend it. but it works on a scandinavian nes machine. and all the other region machines
  • I know this is a grade dig of over a year, but.. I've changed the status of this game, Rock Man 6, and Mighty Final Fight (all HKG region) to Pirate Clones.
