I added a Sega Kiosk to the Sega Dungeon

I found this on Craigslist.  It had been up for 16 hours, he was willing to trade, and we both drove 1 hour ish to meet.

I traded away these silly Nintendo things, pictured first, for this Sega Awesomness.

Picked it up today, set it up today.

(I need some help from experts, requests at the bottom)

The trade

His pictures from Craigslist

The Updated Sega Dungeon.  Forgive the mess, I just got this today

The story is that this was in a Dentist Office, and the original buyer picked it up a few years ago.  One of the letters is from Sega to the Dentist telling them that since Sega was now based out of Canada, he would not have to pay sales tax.

Items I need help with. Pretty Please.

Is it possible to replicate the Sign Holder that is typically found on the front of these ?

The light by the system is out, and it is not the lamp.  I tried both lamps in the top light and they worked.  Any suggestions, or should I just replace the Fixture ?

Can someone take a picture of what there keyed access door looks like on top when it is open.   My door shuts, but nothing holds it there, whatever was holding it there was broke off, I have the 2 wood tabs, and can probably reattach.

Good luck finding a DS-16 and Model 2 for this right

For now the 6-Pak will have to do.

  • Awesome find!!!!!
  • That looks awesome!
  • Nice! You got a great deal. And it's pretty cool that it came with a remote, keys, and paperwork.
  • Jealous! I have the reverse problem, DS-16 with Sega Model 2 with no kiosk, but I don't have room for it anyway
  • Logan, if you ever want to get rid of your ds16, please let me know. Michael, I have all my kiosks pulled away from the wall (texturing) so you are in luck.

Not sure where your problem was there but hope those help. I'm pretty sure the system light is s very generic light you should be able to replace pretty cheaply. The front "frame" is a brittle and cheap plastic frame.. Not sure about replacements but using a very low profile plastic frame should get your desired results.

    Mike,

Thanks a lot.  This picture solves one of the issues.  The two black "stops" that hold the access door from being pushed further into the system were broke off.  They are included and I can probably re attach them.

I am not sure what is wrong with the light by the system, I know I can get a replacement for cheap, It is not the lamp as I already tried that, it just seems like it will be a bear to get at.

    Thank You !

  • There's actually three stops, a long one along the top and the two short ones. Does yours have that hole on the left also with the sound amp behind it?

I don't have a sound amp at all or any remnants of where one used to be, and the booklet doesn't mention anything about one.

Does your front top look like mine ? or did it ?

    Here is my back.

    Model 2048C
