Maybe I have a high tolerance for this kind of stuff because I thought the episode was just fine. It seems like the whole point of the episode was to build tension in the viewer the same way that the tension was building for the group. The last act especially was just torture to watch which is there to mimic the torture the characters were going through in that moment. Negan's monologue was great too. I was hanging on every word. It does suck though to not know who took the beating in the end. It's pretty easy to make an argument for nearly any character in that scene.
It was Daryl, on the talking dead show (he was a guest) and there was that uncomfortable silence from the fan question-not only this but he is in a new TV show. Gotta be Daryl...i was also thinking that they brought in that Jesus character to replace him somehow and now I am pretty sure.
There were two awkward moments on the Talking Dead. The fan question moment and the moment when Daryl nudged Negan for knocking off a character in the show. It is interesting that he does have his own show, but I hope it is just coincidence. Meh.
I see it as cop out for being to afraid to make a real decision. Now they have six months to figure it out. Really weak choice
Agreed. They may as well leave it up to the viewers to vote since they cannot make up their minds. They are too afraid to upset the fans, but are doing so anyways by pulling stunts like this. Next thing you know, it was Deanna's son off camera that was taken out by Negan and wasn't shown in the lineup but popped up mysteriously.

I was going to ask you guys this, is it possible that the decision is not predetermined? I am assuming there is some politics that get involved with this kind of shit because contracts, fan response etc.
I thought I would have sounded like an idiot but I guess not.
death wouldnt be a huge emotional death to end a season so they decided the suspense was better for them.
he gave all his making bullet info to rick. Abraham knows where to produce. Had the big emotional buildup of eugene getting respect. Hes no longer needed.
If it is Eugene, then... wow. I mean all this build up to Negan and it would be Eugene that gets the wrath of Negan? I think it was Glenn. Either way, I am on board with not liking the ending. At this point, it does not even feel like the impact of losing a main character would be as great since there is about a 6 month break. I thought we would be losing at least 3 characters. I feel like this episode could have been shorter and was a good set up for a season finale if anything.
Im sure there will be another character to be the wrath of negan
Ok, so I know there are a ton of theories floating around and websites dedicated to spoiling the storyline of the show. Ever since the last episode I have been kind of convinced that there were be multiple deaths, and I have always thought 3. I thought Negan was going to deal some damage for the finale, which he did, but the victim was never shown. Ever since, I have watched the episode several times and the finale has grown on me. I actually enjoy it now than when it originally aired. It just built up in a way throughout the episode and actually did a good job of portraying how mistaken the group is as far as what they are capable of or know, if that makes anysense.
Anyways, I always felt, even though I could have sworn I posted here, that the 3 victims will be: Michonne, Glenn and Abraham. I just feel this would be a catastropic knock on the group and really put everyone in their place. Rick would really be devastated and would be 3/3 on dead relationship status, Maggie would really be in a tough situation as if she isn't in one already and well the group would really lose the biggest military presence in Abraham and Rosita will regret not making her peace with Abraham and Sasha will once again lose someone close to her. Butchered sentence, but we carry on!
I am really interested in how they develop the Kingdom storyline. I really like the casting in Negan as his acting has been great in the limited screen time he has gotten in the show and trailers.
Oh yes, I still have to catch up in the comics! Hopefully I can get caught up before the season is over!
I don;t understand the whole Glenn/Maggie hate. I guess I am neutral on them, but they have been together since what Season 2. It would be a shame if it comes to an end, but it will.
I forgot to post this. Mad TV skit on the Walking Dead. I found it funny.

I saw the YouTube title and got excited because I had no idea that they brought MADtv back, then I saw where you called it SNL so I just assumed that the YouTube uploaded mistitled it. Then I saw that it really was MADtv back on the air. It's an emotional roller-coaster ride!
I've had TWD Compendium 3 since it launched but still haven't started it. I know who dies in the comics due to jerks spoiling it for me on another forum a long time ago but the show could switch things up. I think they need to keep this character in for a certain market that won't let them play the show otherwise.

Marked for later. Answering now could be a spoiler. Let's just say that there might be a politically-motivated change.

Fixed the title. Sorry don't know how I got SNL/Mad TV confused.
I bought both 1 + 2 new at decent prices, but I was able to pick up 3 used but like new at a gake store for $20. I was thrilled for getting it at that price. I have just been too forgetful to pick them up and read them.
I have seen plenty of theory videos and all that, which I find interesting, but I have really believed it would be 3 people. I just feel it would really shock the group as opposed to only 2. I know Glenn has been around since calling a dumbass since forever ago in the tank, but with all his brushes with death and him just kind of just being there is just meh. Other characters bring more to the show and have been on the show for a smaller period of time. You know?
Okay, so TL;DR but my wife is watching the season premiere and I have these thoughts boiling over and I have to get them out of my head for the sake of catharsis.
Since his appearance at the end of last season...I hated Negan. Not the actor, mind you. Jeffery Dean Morgan is a stand-up guy and, yeah, I know he's just playing his role (and quite well, for what it is). But upon hearing his ego-maniacal bulls***, I instantly knew that I would despise his character. And not quite in the "love to hate him" way that most of the best villains work. No, I can't stand the guy and await the day he receives what he deserves in the fiery bowels of the deepest pits of Hell. Were I writing the TV series, he'd be dead by the end of this episode...but not just dead...obliterated. His filth wiped from the face of existence and everything he ever was erased from memory, his legacy shattered and his ideals lost to obscurity. Yeah, can you tell I can't stand this bilge-licking, vomitous pile of skunk feces?
***COMIC BOOK SPOILERS BELOW***
Sadly, as far as my research in the comic book has taken me, Negan never does get the brutal, agonizing, torturous death that he ought to. Now, I realize that the TV series has done it's fair share of diverting from the comics...but I can't help but be left with the impression that Negan will continue to plague the show for the foreseeable future. And until I see hope that the apocalypse's biggest douche bag is going to be delivered a fitting coup de grace, I can't say that I'm terribly compelled to be invested. I won't be able to avoid the show, since my wife is an avid fan, but I'll probably just let her feed me the high (low) lights until it looks like I can have someone to root for delivering his death. I've been steadily drifting out of interest with the show since the end of Season 3 anyway, so at this point it's more of a "nail in the coffin" kind of thing.
I leave you with the words of Walter Kovacs, a man no less unhinged but at least driven by a more noble ideal, however extreme:
"There is good and there is evil, and evil must be punished. Even in the face of Armageddon I shall not compromise in this."
Brutal scenes and episode. At least Abraham got some final words in his typical form. I almost feel Glenn was just a character that stopped being interesting after the first couple of seasons. Both will be missed either way.
Like Quest said, the commercials do take you out of the moment. This episode will probably flow better without them once you can watch it online or on Netflix. Fast forwarding the commercials still takes away from the experience. Looking forward to the next episode.
By the way, am I the only one that is honestly tired of FEAR the Walking dead? It is hard to believe it is the same zombie outbreak. Both shows are entirely different and not in a good way.

What a trip, crazy effects on glen , basically like the books
They basically "caught up" with the books with the negan storyline by killing both off.
Talking dead is hilarious , I'm a fan but I'm not gonna be all bummed out because of these characters haha
It's funny to me seeing the emotional talk about it hehe
I gotta read this months comic, catch up current WD events.
I dont get the whole "we'll get through this together!" bullcrap. Its a TV show for fuck sakes. Most of the people in the crowd look like they were just there because they like Norman Reedus.
I dont mind talking dead usually when funny people are on there, and they just talk. Except tara and michonne. They ramble and tara repeats jokes like shes funny or something. When conan was on there that was awesome.
But when characters die and it gets all somber its kind of ridiculous.
Episode was pretty rough though. That glenn bashing was disgusting. When he tried to talk and his eye was all popped out it was horrifying. Most gruesome thing in the show so far

In all reality, I think that's exactly why it went down that way. Nutless move on the writers part.

Not really 6 months. It has to be filmed lol.
Cool cliffhanger though I wonder who just got romper stomped!

Agreed! Right after everything went to hell they come out with that ridiculous pizza rolls commercial. My wife and I were like, "Are you serious?!"
also randomly they have the graphic violence warning right before it all goes down so you know its about to happen
They basically "caught up" with the books with the negan storyline by killing both off.
