Completely stumped

Hello.

I'm a "long time" reader but first time poster. I bought a Willem PCB5.0E off Ebay and I simply can't get it to be recognised on Windows 7 or XP. I've tried all sorts of websites from Google, but nothing works - it's stuck on "hardware error: check power & connection".

Here's a photo of my PCB board if somebody can help at all. (I don't understand Chinese and can't find proper instructions for my device anywhere.

P.s. I realise the parallel port isn't plugged in but all that changes in the red middle LED above the green one turns red.

I don't know if it will help or not, but it looks like your EPROM chip might be in there upside down.

I got mine working under Win7 64bit using this guide:

Mine was a 5.5 PCB, but I can't imagine its any different.

Ah genius, thank you. I found that a while back and it had me confused. It seems to work now though, sorry for the late reply! I also recommend just buying a Mini Pro if you are after a device with just as many features (it seems, but it has a bigger ZIF socket) and for the same price.
