Is There A Way To Play SNES Mouse Games On OpenEmu?

I'm using OpenEmu to play Super Famicom games, and I wanted to play Mario & Wario. The problem is, when I downloaded the ROM, I couldn't play it, since it's a game that NEEDS the SNES mouse to play it. Is there any way to configure the keyboard on a MacBook to emulate the SNES mouse, or do I just have to suck it up and get Mario Paint, the actual SNES mouse, and Mario & Wario off of eBay? I'm asking because while I know that buying the hardware is the best option, for now, using ROMs is the cheapest!

Insulting post with no enlightening info... Good job.

You do it the same way you did it the first time. Just on a different website that has a good emu, like not that one.

    Happy now?

  • Since he can't be helpful, if openemu doesn't support it I wouldn't be surprised if SNES9x Mac did. For Windows it's just an option to click and your mouse becomes the snes mouse.
  • Bsnes. Snes9X isn't too good. Neither is ZSNES. It's such a shame such outdated, shitty emus are still commonplace for people to suggest using. Ugh.
  • Nevermind. After typing in 'playing Mario and Wario on an emulator' in Google, I found a ROM that had a joypad hack, so I'm using OpenEmu and my PS3 joystick. I use OpenEmu because it saves me the trouble of having NES,SNES,Gameboy,Genesis,Turbo Graphic/PC Engine, GBA, and DS emulators. It's one click, has seperate libraries for each gaem, and if I want to play 2 or 3 player games, I can use the 'add a Wiimote' option. I still need a second PS3 controller, so I can play Little big Planet with my sis-in-law's nephew! Might use the Mario & Wario hack on my Supaboy, if I ever get an SNES flash cart.
  • SNES9x is ported to multiple OSs including android as well and mac. I didn't think that bsnes was on mac. If it is I'd suggest it too. I quit paying attention to bsnes when it morphed into that bloated and slow higen.
  • It was always bloated and slow, anything written in C++ is usually like that. But I didn't pay much attention after that either, I don't emulate SNES. But still, source code is out. And it runs on Linux, first and foremost. And there's a windows port. So it should support Mac OS right out of the box, being Unix.
  • Higan has a performance build, use that if you have a shitty computer.

Higan also deserves to be called an EMULATOR, unlike some other programs. That's the reason higan accuracy profile need a fast CPU, not because it is written in C++. Truly emulating something takes a SHITLOAD of resources, and it's not something you could just optimize away by switching from C++ to C.
  • My computer isn't terrible. Before it morphed over I was using bsnes and it was a solid 60fps. Using identical settings on higan it has problems especially on chipped games. In both cases I was using the accuracy cores too so I just use the last solid build of bsnes instead.
  • I personally love BSNES specifically for the accuracy setting. It's a great tool to test whether hacks can play on actual hardware or not (although sometimes it's not foolproof for whatever reason).
