Some technical SNES questions

I just recently got a few SNES systems and games so I'm trying to learn some more info on them.

I read before about a difference between SNES motherboards where one can be modded to some type of HD output but not the others. Can anyone link to a tutorial or vid or something? Are there any other notable differences? I noticed one of them doesnt have the physical lock that moves when you turn on the power but they both have the same model # on the bottom... One looks in great shape with basically no discoloration, is it true that some percentage of systems don't get discolored over time?

On the topic of repros, I've seen how bigger games are using TSOP chips on adapters but I'm having trouble discerning when I can use EPROMs instead... From what I understand, the biggest EPROM I can use is 8M, but some boards have room for two EPROMS so I could split any game under 16M onto the the two chips. Anything higher has to go on a TSOP less I want to do some crazy wiring/stacking of EPROMS. Is that about right? What about the boards at infiniteneslives, what are the limitations of those? Specifically, I want to make DQ6 on my first attempt, should I use TSOP or EPROMs on that?

Thanks for the help dudes.
