How Can I Use PAL Famiclones on a NTSC TV?

I live in Canada, but I've noticed that all the Famiclones on eBay.ca are PAL. Is there any way to play those syatems on an NTSC TV, either the old CRT downstairs, or my HD TVs upstairs? Also, are there adapters that work on a PAL Famiclone that would let me play the original Japanese Famicom and Famicom multicarts I already have? Not getting them any time soon. I just might get a Famiclone collection going, and I was wondering what my options are.

  • PAL Famiclones run original Famicom cartridges. That's the feature of clones, they only output PAL video, but work like NTSC consoles, to run Japanese versions.

Your HD TV certainly should support PAL. Old CRTs were multisystem since late 90s, so that depends. Other than using PAL TV there is not much to do, you can't convert Famiclone itself into NTSC. There are PAL to NTSC (and vice versa) video converters, but it is easier to just get a suitable TV instead.
