Nomolos: Storming the Catsle re-release planned (POLL)

Hi everyone,

A Nomolos re-release has been silently in the works with InfiniteNesLives for the past several months. A couple of additions such as a bonus level and enhanced cut scenes have been added. In addition, the cartridge color will be different.

Since Nomolos was out for a couple of years on Retrozone, I am not sure how much interest there would be in this re-release. On top of that, I'm hoping to raise money for a close family member in need by auctioning numbered cartridges of this re-release. I just wanted to get an idea from the community here if there was enough interest to warrant going through with that. If not, the re-release will still happen, just probably with not quite as much oomph as that.

Please note, if I do an auction, I'm not going to see a dime of it. This would all be going to a close family member.

  • Always into charity and supporting homebrewers. I'd get one. It's the third and fourth release that gets me!
  • Finally! I love me some Nomolos. I'm sure a lot of people who already own it would also like one of the new copies (yo), and I do recall a lot of people looking for a copy not long after it was removed from retrousb.
  • How many copies of the re-release would be produced? I never got a chance to buy one before it was taken off of retrousb.
  • That all depends on you fine folks! If I get a big response on this poll and this thread, could be upwards of 200. I'm thinking along the lines of at least 100 though, unless there's not a big enough response.

BY THE WAY, plans are to continue production after this re-release and #'d cart auction.
  • Great! I'll be looking forward to that then.
  • I wouldn't mind a version 2 but I wouldn't bid on an LE :/ definitely in for the release though! What's better than 1 Nomolos? 2 Nomolos!
  • Yes! I missed out on the first batch so this is quite exciting! I'd totally buy one.
  • Id buy a reprint since I missed out on the RetroUSB one but wouldnt personally be interested in a numbered limited edition
  • Probably get a reprint to have both versions, but I just can't afford LEs. I definitely understand about helping family, been there before. Best of luck, even if you only do a few LEs (like 10 or so), its better than no donation at all.
  • I missed out on itt when it was first available, I would love to finally get one!!
  • Just tell me when.
  • I voted yes, because I would bid but not too high. I would just prefer to purchase a copy.
  • Sweet! I missed out on the first batch so I will be in on this for sure
  • I'm in for a copy also. I missed out the first time
  • Just a suggestion, if you did a charity auction for an original nomolos im sure some of us who missed the first round would pay a good amount for it (especially because its for a good cause)

X2 I would be more willing to do that, if that's even an option
  • Mmm, more Nomolos...

Out of curiosity, would the LE version differ from the standard re-release in any way (other than a number)? Regardless, I'd bid on one (not too high, funds are low), and will definitely buy a copy of the standard edition. Have you considered just setting a higher price for an LE and simply limiting the batch to a lower number, kind of like the original RetroZone release? Will the standard edition be cart only, or full CIB? So many questions

*Just a thought, but you could always allow people to give a little more for the regular release in order to go to the cause (similar to what happened to any of the additional monies that people added to their purchases of The Grind). I'd love to help, even if I cannot afford to actually purchase the LE.
  • If it is a non auction, how much would it cost?
  • I missed out on the retrousb run, would definitely like a copy even if it's not LE
  • In for a reprint, not interested in a numbered LE.
  • I'd be in for a second run since it has a bonus level.
