Hello!

Hello,

I created an account yesterday and started posting, but thought I'd introduce myself today.  My name's Ryan and I'm a long-time Nintendo fan living in Maryland.  I got my first taste of the NES when I was two years old, barely old enough to hold the controller, but still managing to play games like Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man 2.  In the beginning, I was a Mega Man loyalist, and I ended up collecting all of the NES Mega Man games and some of the Game Boy games when I was a youngster.  My family made the first major console jump when we bought our Super Nintendo in 1992.  Mega Man was still my favorite series, but I started to develop a taste for the RPG after playing titles like Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy III.  When the next generation came knocking, it wasn't a hard choice to stick with Nintendo after all these years because I associated the brand with quality.  I got a Nintendo 64 for Christmas one year, then a GameCube several Christmases later.

Though I was firmly cemented in my preference for Nintendo, my brother started playing the Sony consoles in the mid-'90s, starting with the PS1.  Games like Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil 2, and Metal Gear Solid were just as decade-defining for me as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64.  I can't wrap up my little history without saying that. But for those of us that stuck with Nintendo for all these years, I'm glad to see there's a home on the Internet.
