Space Invader Cabinet

Hey guys! I'm looking at possibly picking up this working cabinet. Any rough ideas on what I should be paying?

Also, any basic info a first time cabinet owner might need would be great! (Also couldn't find any ebay sold listings)

  • I got a free space invaders cabinet without game and turned it into a mamecade. One thing to note is that the form factor is a little different than what became the standard arcade cabinet. For example, it just has a straight piece of glass as opposed to an angled piece and overhanging marquee. I wouldn't pay more than $300 unless it's in pristine condition. Make sure to ask about the condition of the monitor, they can be expensive to replace and dangerous to repair if you have no electrical knowledge.
  • I agree with kirkasaurus, don't pay more than $300.
  • It all depends on few things:

1st off what is the condition of the cabinet, the marquee, the bezel, the control panel, Sideart? How does the monitor look vibrant, distorted, lines, faded?

Does everything work? Are they saying something like it needs a cap kit, or a new coin mech or somethings wrong with the board the eeproms might just need to be flashed again ect?

If everything is in tip top shape this is a $500-$700 cab mainly due to popularity and trust me that's not a bad price for a cabinet you don't have to put any work into because it gets expensive quickly. On the other hand is this a pretty beaten cabinet? $150 - $350 and the expectation for a couple hundred in repairs/restoration (That's bare minimal basic)
  • Try to get it as cheap as possible. Often the seller is trying to get rid of it due to space constraints, inability to repair it,etc. Use that to your advantage.
