Nintendo PlayChoice 10

I have an opportunity to purchase a nintendo play choice 10 and 5-6 games. Super mario 2, gauntlet, 1942, mike Tyson's punch out, pro wrestling, double dragon and contra. Looks similar to this http://s297.photobucket.com/user/ninfan21/media/DSC00260.jpg.html.

How much can i expect to pay?

  • Santa Rosa Beach or Pensacola?

3 Of these popped up locally all for different prices recently here.

$400-800, took me 10 seconds on ebay.
  • Neither, I searched eBay but just saw restored ones going for 1k+

I saw 3 sell on ebay for $600-700.

I would say locally $400-600 is a good deal (Less is better of course) but even $800 for a REAL nice one would be good.

I'm goping to pick one up for $500 soon.
  • The arcade community is nothing like the retro game community so asking a price of what you should pay is not relevant. In that case I assume your not to well educated on Arcade cabinets in general and if so I can simply say pay however much you feel comfortable paying.

Otherwise I think it would be good to go read up on these cabinets and get a basic overall understanding of how they work, what maintenance is entailed, and what work needs to be done to what your buying. If you don't have this knowledge ahead of time you could easily pay $800 without realizing these machines need repair from time to time and if your not sure everything involved you could find yourself paying another $800 in repairs/restoration making the Playchoice 10 a $1600 purchase, and if that turned out to be the case you would realize that's not something you would want to discuss with other people in the end feeling poorly about your purchase and listening to someones figure and realizing you should have checked other facts out about the machine before purchasing. Those numbers are just an example, switch them to any other figure and the math is still the same. Just trying to save you from making a mistake by listening to a high figure thrown out there and assuming that's enough to throw your money at it. though I can say depending upon the particular machine expect to pay anywhere from $250 - $900 (My advice will help narrow that price range down)
