2 very interesting Price Checks from a Retro Game Store owner

I recently got in these two odd italian or -ITA Variants with 2 seals, I've never seen an NES game with 2 seals before this, anyone have any insight on those 2?

Also, I got a Daggerfall in with a letter from the president, basically stating that they were sorry for the delays (the customer must have pre-ordered this and waited a long time) and that to compensate, they included the strategy guide "valued at $20.00 (in whatever year Daggerfall came out at least)". Anyone have any insights on the history and rarity, or value of any of these? Thanks in advance!!

-Will

  • The Mach Rider is a (GBR)Region (Great Britain) PAL Cart, very common worth about $8. I have no idea about the other
  • Does every GBA region copy of this game have the 2 seals, and were they distributed by Matel? (Another odd part about these carts..) Also, they say - ITA (Italy I imagine) on the back, but the model for the cart with -ITA isn't on Nintendo Age, still just normal copies?
  • Yes there are many -ITA and -GBR NeS games. I have tons of them CIB. What's even cooler to collect are the GBR AUS ITA coded games, although those are on the boxes. In truth your GBR coded game could have been in one of those boxes.
  • Okay, so it's not significant that they're -ITA, but does the Matel release mean anything in terms of rarity or value?

Also, anyone have any clue about the daggerfall with the letter + guide?
  • When the nes first came out I think Mattel was the main distributor in the uk,I think if the games have Mattel on them it prob means its a first run of the game and you may get an extra couple of £s out of them but not much more.
  • You'd be hard pressed to get more than going rate for daggerfall , unless you found a hardcore elder scrolls collector who has to have everything. If I'm not mistaken, most people at preorder likely opted for a special edition. You may try to market it on eBay as a unique piece (in subtitle) - that's what I would do. Last nice complete copy of daggerfall I sold on eBay went for 159.99 BIN. It took a while, but you could probably get around this price if you are patient enough. Also shipping international will help you sell this title for more $$$$.
  • Thank you Sammyboy for that info, and thanks a ton as well Josh, very good advice!
