Pricing Attack Animal Gakuen

So I went to a local game store and noticed that they had two Famicom games in the box. One of them was Astro Boy, and the other one I recognized, but couldn't remember the name of. However, I recalled hearing that it was a rare, fun game. I asked how much they cost, he didn't even know that they were Famicom games, so he said that $30 for both sounded fair. I picked them up, and as I was driving home I noticed that the one that I couldn't remember the name of had a price sticked that said $128: http://imgur.com/lKQAUKw  I was really excited, until I looked on eBay and realized that it only sold for $30. Did the price drop significantly over time, or was Tokyo Toys just being greedy?

If I'm posting this in the wrong place, please let me know. As far as I know, it's not common, and Pricecharting unfortunately does not cover Famicom games.

  • Maybe it went for $130 from somebody who committed themselves to an auction and Tokyo Toys saw that one off ending price and decided to label it as that.
  • That's always possible. I can't imagine anyone paying $100 more than the game is worth though. I was checking here to see if there was something I didn't know about the game. Perhaps there were multiple runs, and the first is worth more, or something like that.
