  • Does it play the entire game or is it just a demo? If that plays the entire game $9.99 isn't a bad price.i
  • Those are decent looking fakes. I wish eBay would ban video games sold from China. Literally almost all of them are fakes.
  • Really, who is buying this for $10 shipped thinking its legit? And how is this even profitable? I would figure shipping alone would be more than $10.

Nobody is buying it thinking it's legit. People buy stuff like this to resell and scam someone. How it's profitable, I don't even know. I realize that they can get stuff like this for dirt cheap, but after paypal and ebay fees and then shipping, I can't imagine much is left.
  • Chinese sellers have some sort of agreement with USPS and are able to ship items for much cheaper than US sellers are able to. I don't remember exactly how it works, but that's how you see Chinese sellers selling things for under a dollar with free shipping.
  • Someone contacted me saying these were from a stock pile Nintendo sent to be destroyed. Instead they found their way to market and were being sold in both China and USA. If they were trying to profit off NFRs I highly doubt they would sell them at the prices they were and are. Makes more sense a stock of these were bought out for next to nothing. Shipping from China is pennies on the dollar. I haven't bought any of they new bargain nfrs from these new sellers just for the simple fact of not knowing for sure where they came from. If anyone that buys from this sellers cares to post pictures I would love to see them. It should be fairly easy to spot a fake cart.
  • I have thought about these a lot (while waiting for this thread to show up, incidentally ), and I am leaning toward legit. I'll let you know what I think when they arrive.
  • The way they ship them is they do in on those massive container ships you see in movies, so they literally sends hundreds of thousands of packages at once, that's the cost of the postage itself, when it comes to the packaging, ebay, handling, paypal, complaints/refunds, I have no idea how they operate. I once got a DS Stylus for 4p shipped from China...Anyway, I will also be purchasing some of these and letting you guys know.
  • There's no way these are legit IMO. You might as well just buy Pokemons from China too.
  • just checked, it said "5 available / 15 sold" no way that is legit. I would not buy any rare games from a seller in china.
  • These aren't fakes. They were the ones that actually made it back to be destroyed and somehow the secondary market in china got a hold of them.

I looked into myself in case major reporting had to be done. But turns out they're legit

They arrive in varying states of condition (being used in stores) and with back stickers.

They apparently have stock piles of various older DS 3DS demo games.
  • ^ they are legit

  • So this just happens to be the first case of legit games coming out of china? Still seems highly suspect to me. You think they'd be charging more than $9.99 if they were real.

And besides physical appearances how is the rom?  Is the rom the true demo?
  • Tested as true demo for OOT 3ds.didn't think to take screen shots.

And whereas this is the first major influx of demo games; certainly not first case of Nintendo products to be dumped/find their way into China.

Example most recently Club Nintendo Luigi statues. Though that may be more of a case of factory over production and them taking advantage.turned out legit

The statue another thing I looked into (bought) turned out to be real.

So sad day for those who paid $100 plus for this in the past. Good day for collectors that these arent fakes that we would have to sift through.

I already owned this demo so these 2 will be tucked away for foreseeable future
  • I'm much more interested in the sellers "sexy sex girl" mouse pads.
  • Damn I felt froggy and bought the deal in the second link from a seller with 0 feedback!

Will let y'all know what happens!
  • looks like a ton of Zelda are up for sale at $14

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/390919846426

    8 different including a Zelda for $50

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/291230511976

Is there anything decent besides Zelda?

I think Zelda is the only one here I would play.
  • Seller lidyyacos sent me this message after asking if they were legit copies.

    "hi

    original.

    actually it came from US."

I went ahead and bought a lot of 4.

Worst case scenario I open a case and get my $26 back so I ain't trippin.

I got 2 Zelda's, Street Fighter IV and Starfox. At $6.50 each it's worth a shot IMO.
  • Heck, if you guys think they're legit, then I may as well pop on a few. In no way did I ever think these were real. It would make sense that they would sell them for a whole lot more. I mean, why not? People would definitely pay more for real games. I'll go ahead and buy a few. You guys have me too curious.

A similar thing happened with the AladdinDeck Enhancer games for the NES.  They were rather sought after and hard to find, and suddenly 2 or 3 sellers showed up with massive amounts of stock.  They started competing with eachother since they were the only market in town for the games and the prices kept dropping and dropping.  There looks to be a few sellers that have large quantities of these NFRs for sale at different prices.  Also, it's a better business model sometimes to sell large quantities of an item at a lower prices fast than to have a higher price point and sell them much slower and potentially have a large amount that become basically unsellable...especially if they didn't pay much or anything for them (which is sounds like if they were just returns that were supposed to be sent to be destroyed.
  • Yeah, I think they either don't know what they could sell for or don't want to wait very long to go through the stock. They are raising the prices slowly but not by a lot. I got a lot of 8 3DS NFRs for $30 shipped that is now up to $45 shipped. They can be bought individually for around $8 each as well, up from $5.99
  • Curious to see how long this'll last. Never had much interest in NFR games, but for the price I figured why not. Hopefully none are bootlegs.
  • There will be a funny period of time after this where people who missed out are referencing these sale prices in negotiations for DS and 3DS NFR items.
  • It kinda reminds me of a less extreme version of the story of Circus Lido, which was apparently one of the rarest and priciest PC-Engine games, until a large stash of them were found for sale, apparently on Amazon Japan of all places.

  • Look legit to me, i even bought some.
  • Just got mine today. Definitely legit. There are tiny imperfections here and there. Labels look right and the back Nintendo stickers have a bit of wear.

  • Thanks for reporting back. Guess this will definitely put a ding in the value of these particular NFRs! Hehehe
  • The seller only had limited supplies from what i was told, and will be listing 1 more NFR cartridge. I got the 8 pack and they are the real deal, arrived really fast too and in great shape.
