Removing gold LoZ paint?

I'm curious if anyone might know of a good way to remove the gold paint on a legend of zelda or adventure of link.

I'd like to just have a bank black shell to use.

That is what I was afraid of. Possibly use a pressure washer?

use goo off or de-solv-it it will take some time but it will bring it off. just apply it and the let it sit and wipe it off and re apply. use a q tip to get near the label with out damaging it

Magic erasers are essentially fine sandpaper so it will leave very small scratch marks if that matters.

Acetone would eat the plastic. Get it soda blasted or maybe walnut shell blasted by a sandblasting shop. Its not expensive, though will cost a few bucks. Will strip it all off without damaging the plastic though.
