SNES Powerpak issues

Help me NA!

I just got an SNES powerpak in the mail - I've been messing around with it for three hours and can't get it to play anything. Historically I'm not very good with this sort of thing but here's the situation and what I've done:

The PowerPak loads up when I start it but will not play a rom. I have a 4 gig sd card that came with the PP. I tried loading the rom that came preloaded on the card, but it didn't work. I've tried reformatting the card, I've downloaded the newest version of the POWERPACK Folder. I'm getting my roms from a variety of sources and have sought out ones with the (U) [!] distinction (this was suggested in another SNESPP thread involving a different issue). I tried changing the DMA from =1 to =0 in the CONFIG.TXT file. I'm trying to load roms that are not on the current incompatablity list. I'm using a North American SNES 2.

Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated!

edit: my power source is an SNS-002.

  • remove all your files off of it and format it (uncheck the quick format) put it all back and retry it. i dont have a snes powerpak but ive been using ds flash cards for a few years so i know sometimes reformatting it will fix it.
  • When you say SD card, do you mean the Compact Flash card?
  • ^ yeah, sorry
  • Buuuump. Please someone help me!
  • Hey my friend did it come with a transcend brand card? I couldnt get it to work but if you buy a kingston brand card it worked great

Feel free to pm with questions i am not sure if this was a fluke or not im sure other card brands work but kingston has always worked for me
  • Cleaned system yet? PowerPak uses the "wings" on the cart slot that most other carts don't.
  • I just received mine today, and much to my dismay it has the same issues. I tried the versions of the PowerPak folder from the website, and even the folder from a friends working Powerpak. The console is clean, as my friends Powerpak works in my system just fine. Any other suggestions?
