NWC Grey #308 on eBay
Can't really figure out how come no-one has posted this link in Auction Site Spotlight?
Is it perchance posted elsewhere on the forum?
Or is it really not that exciting, when one of these carts comes up for sale?
Maybe people believe it is fake? Like the others that pop up on eBay from time to time from sellers with one or two prior transactions?
Anyway:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/251670401480?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
Thoughts? What do you expect it to sell for?

Might be real, but come on.
What I'm wondering, is with PayPal buyer-protection and all, how come people don't just take a chance and reclaim the money, if the item is fake?
For instance this gold one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/nintendo-world-championships-1990-Nintendo-/161438689334?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item25967ee836&nma=true&si=dndWp%2FnxpF%2Baw%2BPNzK%2FSVR3%2Bx%2FU%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I don't get it, how come there isn't someone that throws a bid of a few grand, and then just hopes it's the real deal - couldn't he reclaim the money, if he's been cheated? Or is it something I'm missing about the buyer-protection part?
I also seem to recall having seen this story, regarding the uncle.
Uncles always seem to have the best stuff and pass it down to their long-lost kin...lol

Yeah, I know - And I've noticed a lot of auctions discussed on NA are get a lot of negativity for being fake (and most of them probably are)

buyers usually don't have a problem getting their money back from paypal if they are scammed. I personally do not take chances bidding on sketchy items because i don't loan money out for free. Think about it. Scammer takes a payday loan at a ridiculous interest rate or borrows the money from some poor ebay schmuck for a month for free. If you were broke and a cheat which would you do? I have seen this many times.
I've never actually sold anything on eBay, just bought a few things so I'm probably misinformed.
But that's quite an interesting, albeit tedious, way to get some quick cash - Scammers creativity never seizes to impress.

As you said, with plenty of pictures - The funny thing was though, that the seller had added a piece of paper with his seller ID to verify that it in fact was his. Only problem being, that on one of the images, it read: 2014.ribez and on another: comicbooknerd1234
Edit: I can actually see my link isn't for the finished listing, but a relisting of the same #234
Edit: Yeah your link goes the current one that was on eBay.
Double Edit: I could only find this torn one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NES-Nintendo-World-Championship-Cart-RARE-Torn-Label-100-Authentic-Adult-Owned-/221492505009?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3391fb69b1
Seems to be an actual legit sell based on feedback exchanged and the seller's history.

Too bad it was torn, but yes, that one was probably legit, he at least mentions DreamTR in the description, who (as far as I can read from various topics on this site) is the one, whose had most of these pass through his hands.

Damn, I didn't even notice that before. But the way the sticky note is laying on the cartridge is just weird. It's too perfect. The pink note looks superimposed, and the way it's perfectly lined up with the photo. . . odd. I initially thought it was legit just because scamming almost seems like a waste of time anymore.
IMO, of course.
The history of ownership shouldn't be hard to track.

Hi All, This is the seller from the auction linked. LukeAF24 contacted me on eBay and told me about the thread here. I've been on a work trip, so I didn't have a chance to post more pics. I will do so tomorrow when Luke meets me to open the cartridge. As I said on the auction, my uncle promoted and designed this tour back in the day and had considered the cartridge junk. He thinks it is hilarious that it is selling for so much.
Looking forward to seeing it.
Also, welcome to the forums.
Looking forward to see more pictures and hoping this turns out to be another legit copy in circulation.

If you want to maximize your potential profit, pull the auction, take pics of the pcb, and relist. You'll absolutely pull substantially more cash.
Awesome item and story, good luck!

Definitely looking more likely legit after seeing that info, thanks for that!

Can you pull a listing with only 12 hours to go?

Ugh, didn't even look. Truth be told, I've never pulled an auction, but I think you're right.
