dead cart?

Thats just weird

I have a rad racer II 

and a contra recently i got from a lot  (CRIES) 



they are dead as DEAD CAN BE....





The boards don't show any sign of broken traces they all test GOOD  for continuity ....

the entire thing seems fine

I tried reflowing the rad racer one 

Nothing .... 



The only thing i didn't do is change the resistors but seriously could this be the reason why the thing doesn't even boot or show any sign of life at all???

I highly doubt.

    if only that was the case i can pop in any cartridge and get it to work in 2 seconds....

    and i have a spare nes which confirms that games are dead

    I need to look further than just a dirty connnector or pins

    I have a copy of Trog that is the same way, just can't get the damn thing to boot up no matter how many times I clean it. All my other NES games start right up!

    weird very weird im not the kind of guy who gives up quite easily so im hoping someone can point me to something to check.

    bent pin in the nes connector? bad lock out chip? i had a super mario bros game where there was no solder on one of the pins on the lock out chip once. i wouldnt boot. so i put some solder on it and that fix it.

    Tried on a removed CIC 4th pin nes : not working (blue screen 100%)



    Tried contra today on a top loader : nope

    time to find some donor carts i guess but i hate to kill carts

    just get a crappy sports game and that should work just fine

    I have a copy of Blaster Master that won't work on a Top Loader but will work on a Toaster. It's missing a little tab inside the cart so the board gets pushed up into the cart when it's inserted into a Top Loader. The Toaster with it's super light grasping pin connector is actually a plus in this situation.

    There are are plenty of nearly free carts for a contra donor- top gun, skate r die, jack nicklaus. try to find one with a 24 code on the back label. that's a konami board and they are much easier to work on.

    True totally forgot that double dribble is konami bought 2 of these problem will be solved thanks all as usual!

    Is double dribble same board type as rad racer? If not you sill need a different donor for that one

    For contra i mean rad racer won't be getting a donor just replaced the whole thing and kept the cart since the sticker looked still awesome i dont want to hack it.
