Hey guys, was this controller real? Never heard of it.

This guy claims there were 2 versions of the pokemon N64 controllers. I've never heard this or seen the "early version" is this real?

  • I don't see why it wouldn't be. Looks legit to me.

These are faked sometimes.  But not sure how to tell if it is legit.

  • That one looks really nice. Just compared mine to my gold controller, and as far as I can tell the NP100 is just a gold controller with that sticker slapped on.

The NP100 sticker thing is gold underneath with black on top. Looking at the close up, it does seem to be done this way.
  • The Nintendo Power sticker is a raised, embossed sticker. It seems like it would be hard to reproduce(fake). The stickers are notorious for moving around though. The adhesive they used doesnt seem to last very long. It's pretty hard to find one that still has the sticker nice and straight.

The quality of it is what makes me worry. It is very nice, but would you vote real or too good to be true?

Thanks for commenting on here coachluke, I know you have some pretty good insight into controllers based on passed forums. What would you vote? Real or not? I would really like to have this controller in this great of shape, but also worried that something that old that looks this good just might be too good to be true.
  • Looks real to me. It'd be more worthwhile to fake an M2000, so I wouldn't worry about fakes on these.

Plus the only realistic way to fake this is to steal an NP100 sticker from the other item that came with one... the limited edition gold gameboy. And considering that goes for more than the NP100 controller, no one would ever do that.
  • Word, thanks Jonebone.  yu duh mahn!
  • I agree with jone. It wouldn't be worth the trouble to fake one of these.

Don't be worried about it looking "too good". Mine still looks brand new.
