Help With What This Xbox 360 Cable Is

I've been trying to sell this Xbox 360 Cable in my FS Thread for $1.00.



I'm just not sure exactly what it is called.



It is some sort of AV Cable Converter?

    Since HDMI cables don't have audio out this is used to connect headsets to the 360 while using HDMI. 



    It's call a "Xbox 360 Audio Adapter"

    ^^^ No point. The Xbox 360 with HDMI already has an optical port in the back. Not to mention HDMI can pass higher-resolution audio so it would defeat the purpose to use both. 





    This adapter was specifically designed so that players can use HDMI and still connect a headset. See, Microsoft and 3rd party cable manufacturers built there AV/Component cables to block the HDMI port. Not sure why they would block it but you can't have both HDMI and AV/Component connected at the same time. It's just another way for Microsoft to charge for another useless cable that could have easily been avoided if they just built the cables to not block the HDMI port.

    The slim units already had an optical audio out on the back, the original 360 the optical audio port was integrated into the av cable

    It's a worse mess than that.



    fat 360: needs an AV cable for optical, even after the HDMI update.

    360 S: integrated optical

    360 E: removed both the AV and optical ports, and is not compatible with optical.



    (if you're curious, the multi-AV port was replaced by composite. so 360 E doesn't support component, VGA, s-video, or RGB SCART either)

    This cable was designed for M$ to make more money. One couldn't use the optical port on the phat 360 whilst using the HDMI port.

    This cable allows you to use HDMI and optical simultaneously. I have 2 because my receiver is a little old and doesn't support HDMI in so I had to use optical.

    Yep its an adaptor to allow the original 360 w/HDMI to output HDMI and Optical Audio. I had one for years with my surround sound.
