Why are factory sealed Famicom worth such a low amount of money?

I've seen factory sealed Nintendo Famicom games go for the highest at $99 USD. While the American verisions for common games range from $250-$499. What's with the huge price difference?

Example:

(Prices are from Amazon)

$225.00( Kirby's Adventure Factory Sealed)

$047.57(Hoshi No Kirby A.K.A Japanese verision of Kirby's Adventure Factory Sealed)

-______

$177.43

That's a $177.43 price difference! Can somebody please why there is a huge price difference?

Also English isnt my first language so please excuse my grammar and spelling mistakes if their is any.

  • More demand to supply ratio for NA releases? Seems to be the most logical explanation.
  • Famicom games never came sealed like the US nes games.
  • I didnt know that thanks for that information.
  • Famicom? What's that?!

In the simplest terms, it's basically the japanese NES. It's way different the NES thou.

    Oh sorry.

  • Most Japanese games aren't worth much. Might have something to do with the exchange rate from yen to usd. Maybe..? That's really all I can think of. I've wondered this for a long time, but no one can seem to come up with a good answer. It's kinda nice though being able to get some good games for cheap.

The cost of manufacturing in Japan is cheap too. And Japan has been devaluing their currancy purposly to keep it that way. So I'd say bingo! Lol
  • I always assumed the price difference was due to lower demand from Japanese gamers.
  • There are plenty of expensive jpn games.

    Here's an example.
