Famicom Adapter Help
Recently, I ordered a Nintendo Famicom on amazon. I recently AV modded it because RF's quality is horrible(Also to make it work with my American TV). I was about to set it up but then I thought about the what powers the Famicom and I believe that the Japanese use DC instead of AC so how do I power my famicom. Can I just purchase a AC adapter for the Famicom or will it fry the system? Would I need to purchase something to make the AC into DC? And if anybody knows links to a Famicom DC adapter please put it here.

I've used an AV Famicom (the '93 model) in the US using the Famicom's AC adaptor with no problem. Like you said, it reportedly takes DC, so the NES AC adaptor is likely not an option. I can hook you up with a Famicom AC adaptor and whatever games you're looking for if you'd like. Please see my thread here:

I appericate the offer but will it only work for the second model or will it work with both?

Use a model 1 SEGA Genesis power adapter if you're in the US, works like a charm. Same for both models.
Will it affect the system at all?
I've got a regular Fami, AV Fami, and FDS. They all use the same power supply requirements and have used Model 1 power supplies for years. Never, ever plug in a US NES adapter.
I too have a Famicom, AV Famicom and FDS. The FDS takes a different size of DC barrel jack but is otherwise the same with amps/voltage/polarity.
