I'm a frickin moron...I sold Rich Amblers NWC!!

I just found out that one of the grey NWC carts I have sold over the last few years was the ONE grey NWC I was never going to sell. I have the paperwork and materials from the 1990 NWC that Rich Ambler (the runner-up) sent to me when I acquired the cart from him. Over the years of selling these extra carts, I have screwed around and kept the wrong one.

I would have bet a thousand dollars that the one I kept was the one from Rich, but after recently looking at the paperwork he sent me (just admiring my final grey one, now that the blue repro came out), my material does not match my cart number.

Yes, I have a sweet looking cart, but I gave up the important one that had a history.

And what is truly evil, is that I don't even have a guess as to when or who I sold it to. I have sold many of these over the last decade.

I am truly an idiot...and I just wanted to share. I hate everyone and everything right now. image image image

    What number was Amblers?
  • Are you the dude that contacted a bunch of contestants some time ago trying to get their NWC carts? If I may ask, how much did they generally sell them to you for?
  • No, I have never contacted anyone concerning these carts. They have all come my way through the normal course of business.
  • If you divulge the cart's number, there's a good possibility that whoever owns it will come of the woodwork (and feel a little bit better about the cart he's got in his possession).
  • Which number was the one you didn't want to get rid of? If it's the one I have, I'd be happy to swap.
  • Yeah....I guess that was a "DUH" thing to leave out. The cart I got from Rich Ambler years ago is 0227. I know it must not be in very good condition, becuase I sold them from worst to best....and I kept the best one. And it was not the last one I sold.

I guess I talked myself into thinking the "best" cart was the cart from Rich. I haven't a clue what was going on in my head to not have kept it separate from the others. I kept the "best" cart with the paperwork. Had not even looked at it for years.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Can't let my best one go.....can't see re-buying the lost cart.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid.
  • So you are the one that bought Rich Amblers cart. I wonder if you are the one that sent me the jpg of the document he sent with it that had info I included in the Repro cart instruction manual. I just don't remember where I got that from. Anyway, what other documentation did he give with it?

Oh, and please keep trackk of any future NWC carts you come in contact with, heh heh.

Do you even remember the cart numbers you had?

  • If it makes you feel any better the NWC I own is not from Rich.

I don't know the numbers of the other carts I sold, except the last one. And as far as paperwork, he gave me a newspaper article from his hometown, a VIP pass, a VCR tape showing the contest, a poster flier from the finals event (listing the last players), a couple NWC guides, the type written "how to" that is with the repro manual....and a couple other things that escape me right now. Way more than enough to document the cart.

Other than the two I keep, I don't expect to ever see any more NWC's , so I doubt I could offer you any future assistance in cataloging them. I got all mine forever ago, when they were somewhat cheaper.
