Genesis collection on ebay going for ridiculous prices
Here is a link to all the stuff he sold so far -> ebay
Can some explain what's going on here? Shill bids? Some of the bids look pretty legit.
Outlander CIB $127.50?
Ghostbusters $76? (doesn't even have the poster)
Mega Turrican $158?

Well, he did offer affordable, combined international shipping and not that global shipping program bullshit. At least I'd much rather pay the seller more rather than reward eBay for their asinine shipping program, and I'm sure a lot of others would too.

Ships internationally, and whenever you sell out a nice collection one by one, you always get high prices. This has happened plenty of times in the past.
Really? Maybe I should just unload my collection now, get 2-10x's what its worth, and then just buy it all back again.
I have certain games on my watch list that I've never seen go for anywhere near these prices.
If you look at the bids, the same people seem to be bidding, and one guy seems to keep winning. It just so happens he has a feedback of (1).

It's not that simple. If you genuinely collect nice collector quality, Near Mint and up (which the vast majority of his items are), you couldn't buy them all back even if you wanted to. Or, it would take a long time and a lot of patience to get games of the same quality (and probably more money if the games appreciate in that timeframe).
Time and time again, when people ship internationally and part out collections piece by piece, many items go higher than expected. The combined shipping furthers the bidding wars, as people want to win multiples to reduce their shipping costs.

Always, without fail. Happens with any system
